You will not like this but I sent the PX6 HU back to Amazon and got the Pioneer 6600. Myself, along with some other friends were having too many issues and way too many tweaks to get this thing to work consistently. Head over to the thread below and jump on the Pioneer wagon! It works flawlessly and is same fitment.

All good. I haven’t really had any issues and didn’t buy via Amazon so I’m stuck with it.

@Capitol_Taquito Thank you! I figured, I'd compare my bracket to @Sullivan0930 after he was kind enough to share his photo.

I noticed that the [top] portion of his bracket sat much lower than mine. I went out to the truck this morning, and 2+ days of work, only took me 5 minutes after seeing that photo! My Dash Bezel and PX6 are now perfectly installed / flush.

    - Dropped the bracket slightly to match Sulli's install, using only 1 screw on each side locks this in place just fine.
    - All four panel screws used to mount radio to dash

Thank you both for the help @svermilyea and @Sullivan0930

Glad the pic helped. The brackets aren't nearly as bad as this thread made them seem. You could also sneak a second screw on that bracket. I have two on my sides. But one or two screws the thing isn't gonna disengage from the bracket.

anyone with the Dasaita PX5/6 upgrade speakers also? Looking throught the audio threads on here, the Kicker CS door replacements and Subie tweeter replacement seem to make a nice adjustment to the output. Just wondering if these Dasaita units have the power to drive these speakers or is an amp like the Kicker Key 180.4 or similar needed? Also considering added the Kicker Hideaway 8" powered sub behind the rear seats... any input is appreciated

Have a PX6 unit in my seconds gen and upgraded all the speakers and tweeters to Focals. Great power, bass, and sound quality. Added some sound deadening while I was at it.

Posted my note 10 on swappa. Sold that night and switched to iPhone mainly just because I love the aesthetic of CarPlay.....and wireless at that.

Cool trick, when you are running CarPlay and you take a screen shot on your phone it also captures the screen on your HU

I've got the px6, different style screen as these but same internals. I upgraded all the speakers with everything Alpine. Also installed a 10in sub behind the 1/3 seat as well as an amp. I also did sound deadening and foam insulation in every door as well as behind the rear seats. The sound difference is night and day. I was kinda surprised but the radio could handle everything. Didn't have any trouble connecting everything to the radio etc. I'm so glad I upgraded the speakers etc

good to know, I ordered the Kicker CS series as suggested in the other audio thread and some dynamat for each door. I'll install those and see if i feel like I need to do the Subie tweeter upgrade, I enjoy my music in the truck but I'm not some super audiophile

no amp. Definitely change equalizer settings based on what I am listening to but you can store custom settings. So it's easy to drop the bass and turn it down with little one in the truck and easy to turn up the bass get it bumping.

Got in the DMax Armor screen protectors today, had to trim this thing big time, used a flatbed paper cutter. I'm not thrilled with the results either as the screen still has a ton of glare, see pics. I almost prefer the super clear screen with fingerprints as opposed to this. I had ordered a pair of ShadyRays unpolarized to keep in my truck to get around the issue of not being able to see the screen from side view with polarized shades...just thought I'd share my .02

Thinking I might be pulling a @svermilyea and selling mine for a pioneer 6600. Zlink can take up to a minute each connect and the audio seems to do a little skip here and there.

so any offers for the PX6 unit running Hal9k rom, has wired android auto and wireless Apple car play. Shoot them my way.

You can solve your skip by going hard wired. Even the WC6600 will skip from time to time, as did my Entune head unit. The primary reason is bluetooth design. The signal bounces around inside the vehicle and the surrounding environment. Sometimes the receiver gets confused and drops the signal. I happens with all bluetooth connections from time to time. The only savior is if the connection is buffered, giving the receiver time to catch up. Zlink on the otherhand is a little slow on the handover from bluetooth to the wifi connection for the majority of the data that is used by wireless CarPlay. It is more reliable than the wireless carplay dongle, but sometimes it is a little slower. You can overcome that with a hard wired connection, but that defeats the purpose of wireless carplay.

Even with the 6600 (which has a much faster handover from bluetooth to wifi, it can be 10-15 seconds.

Interesting. My entune never gave me a skip. Haven’t tried wired car play. I’m guessing you have to delete the Bluetooth profile from the head unit since wireless CarPlay will connect through WiFi.

when you do plug into the stock usb port does anyone else get that little pop up that says something along the lines of "plug into usb otb socket"?

edit: to answer that question to anyone in the future thats as dumb as me, those usbs that it comes with are important, well at least one is (of course the one i left hanging back there) turns out thats the one that actually connected wired apple carplay.
