Actually has some fairly substantial metal behind all that plastic if that makes you feel any better.

I dinged my driver side rear and had to replace the cap, tail light, and the plastic support piece the cap attaches to. Cost about 250 in parts for all three pieces but looks like new. You may want to check to see if the plastic support piece broke which would affect the alignment of the cap.

I had a truck roll into me slowly in a drive through line. Smashed in the left bumper cap so it had to be replaced. There are adjustment bolts on the bumper caps that allow you to realign them easily. My sensors were fine as well.

You're definitely overthinking it. Save some sauce for later. Wait until you find out that all four window motors roll down at different speeds.

Yup, I backed into a stone wall the second month of ownership. (Rear/ Right). After learning the cost of repair and how easy it is to damage the rear bumper caps I purchased a steel bumper. Much better. Just sold the left bumper cap and one of the BSM’s.

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
Super easy to fix. A few bolts, pull off the very, extremely flimsy thin piece of steel, straighten it up, bolt back together. Nobody but you and the thousands on this forum will ever know. Well ... your wife will know; they always know.

Well since you're taking it apart anyway, might as well change your bumper fluid while you're in there
