Good morning all, beautiful day here. Thankfully rain in the forecast - we need it - still lots of smoke in the air from the Durango and AZ fires. The rain will help knock that down, it was so bad yesterday I kept the dogs in the house all day - looked like we had fog all day.

We could use some of that rain. The smoke from the fire south of Roosevelt lake obscures the sun in the afternoons. Folks complain about the ash in the mornings. The monsoons usually start in early July. An early start would not hurt any feelings here.

Last fall, there was construction back up on 80 eastbound. To say it was at a stand still is without a doubt true. I pulled into the rest area before Hazleton and when I got back onto 80 I was actually ahead of folks that were next to or ahead of me:rolleyes:. I got off at the Freeland/940 exit and meandered down that way. But on a good note, when they do the road work up there, it gets done in a timely manor not like in Philly where I 95 has been under construction for over 40 years:annoyed: and it's still not done!!!
Rained here this morning and waiting for more. Have a good day all.

Oh boy! My wife hit me w/this as soon as I walked in the door.
"Why do all the people on the news, either local or national or QVC or any one on TV...how is their hair so perfect "
I'd never really thought about it. I didn't have an answer. But you know what...she's right.
This all stems from not being able to get her done.
I know that I've mentioned this before but now it's getting touchy.

Most news shows and similar shows have their own hair and make up people there in studio. That’s why they look so perfect. Even local news in medium to major markets have make up and stylists on staff or they come in before shows.

    Yes, I understand that.
    That's her point.
It's now to the point that Liz, the girl that does her hair may and stress may, come to our home and give her a doo.

Good morning, all!!! Storm blasted through and took out our power for a few hours yesterday afternoon - whole-house generator kicked on and life was back to normal. Taking today off to burn up my vacation before I retire - actually only 4 work days left. It is feeling pretty surreal at this point.

Stay safe and enjoy the day!!

    Morning all:
    :woot: haircut day today!
Yesterday saw a beautiful grey fox out in the yard, thought I was seeing it at night but couldn't positively ID it as a fox.

Morning folks. Another day closer to retirement for you Mark. Life is good .

I got a haircut last week and it felt good to get rid of all that hair (shades of the long hair 70's). My barber told me I had so much hair it was almost like shearing a sheep....LOL.

Have a great day and be safe folks.

Us, too, but we're in the boundary area of the pattern so we get thunderstorms in the afternoon from time to time. I love the heat, though!

Hair cutters open back up again next Friday around here, woohoo! I needed a haircut before this all started and at this point it's unbearable.

Does anyone know how to get rid of snakes? There is at least one eating the fish out of my garden pond. I saw it grab one last night but it disappeared by the time I found the pellet gun. Grrrr.

Good morning all, cold rainy day yesterday with lots of thunder-boomers. Had to shut down my computer and server, yes they are on a surge protector and back-up battery but still no need to take any unnecessary chances.

Warmer today, back to working on the fire mitigation plan before we excavate out water shed plan (we do get a monsoon season that can wash out a driveway quickly if not managed). The challenges of living in the mountains while being respectful of the land and others.

Have a great day everyone -

    Afternoon all:

    A pet mongoose?

Had some storms go through last night and had a power outage AGAIN, went to use the microwave after the power came back on and it took a chit!
I have a surge protector for the computer but not for the microwave, apparently it absorbed one surge too many so went and picked up a new one this afternoon, I got about 18 years out of the old one, guess I cant complain.

    Sue!
