I can't remember if he powder coated them or had a surface plating done. Might be a couple others that have as well.
But when I see tie down or rope hook, I automatically think GQ7227 :D:cool:

I covered mine with some black rust converting paint. Spray a little into a plastic container, paint with a small paintbrush. Takes less than 10 minutes. Don't have to remove them or tape anything off that way. Mine have held up for at least a year now.

I didn’t see his comment as criticism at all.

And yes, many of us love your channel and videos. Keep up the great work.

    Good call.
I've always used a piece of fuel hose to probe around for exhaust leaks and other things, but I'll have to get a set of those for stuff like this.

Ive been thinking a lot about doing a year swap. Throwing this ETCS-I garbage in a burning dumpster and swapping in a tried and true system that works. So using a 2002 harness/ECU and throttle body along with a 02 valve body for the kickdown.

only issues I would have then is what to do with the 04 ABS and cruise control.

You better be joking, well at least about the 'receive this well' part. :D
I actually thought he'd be the best resource for the guys question

No need to be too serious in here. The real world and life is serious enough. TW should be a break from all off that crap:cool:

So true. This is suppose to be a drama free zone :) Hopefully the negativity of one person doesn't continue to bring it down.

In way of getting this train back on the tracks, I am getting everything set out for a day of press work. Will be pressing the 2wd hub and bearing out of my pre-runner spindles and pressing in new bearing and new manual wheel hubs. Hope I don't mess any of this up as these are expensive parts! Wish me luck :) Will post pics of all the bits here in a few

Yes sir! Got it for a daily driver. I was going to swap the blower but the TW members (you know who are! thanks!) Told me to leave it as is just as gramps had it.

We don't get to see as many fun 2wd tacos as other regions because most like 4wd around here. So yours is real unicorn in these parts

Oh it won't, don't worry man. This place has seen some stuff and it always bounces right back.... Too much good here and it really is all/mostly good folks here. I wouldn't stick around if it wasn't :D
99% of issues that pop up here are sincerely straight up misunderstandings. Not exaggerating. This first gen sub forum seems to do a solid job of self moderating, we don't need no stinking mods in here!(jk mods! - keep up the great site, we all like a good place to hang out and talk Toyotas with like minded folks:D)

Just got my bearings out of the box from Low Range Off-Road. These are the Koyo OEM bearings, just didn't order them from Toyota.

Pardon my ignorance on this, but these almost look like they've been "used". These are fresh out of the box and have some odd marks on them.

So I am just wondering if that is normal for these bearings, and secondly if the black side is suppose to have a bunch of movement. Both of the ones I received have the same play in that direction, but just want to make sure these are ok before I bother trying to press them in... once I get all my old crap pressed out that is :)

    IMG_1613.jpg
    IMG_1615.jpg
Hopefully this is normal, cause otherwise that's a full stop till I get new ones. Thanks for any input you guys can provide :)

I agree, hate that kind of work. Can't argue with those results though man. Few cold ones and admiring it... hopefully it will encourage you to keep going. That's how I operate anyhow lol

Thanks I’m pumped! it’s hard with Tacoma’s thought. I’m spending more time and money lately on the 2X when the 4x4 needs some love .
