One thing to consider. Buy at least two of everything you need. Those little pins are a PITA!
It's a subtle mod, but defiantly an updated look.

What gauge wire did you use to reverse the problem instead of swapping the rheostat?

So I'm going to attempt this soon. I have the hvac assembly, harness housing, and a bunch of pins. Would I just cut the oem connector off and repin the wires into the new harness housing like shown in the diagram on page 1? I'm a little confused on what I would have to cut and crimp and solder. Or did the OP's new wire harness housing come pre-wired and had to solder the wires together instead of repinning?

Anyone have an issue with the LEDs that illuminate the rings not lighting up? Everything else is working perfect after the swap. The AC and air circulation lights are working fine. Any insight would be appreciated.

Anyone have issues with the A/C button staying on even when heat is on. I tried pressing it off like I did before I made the swap but it stayed on. It only shuts off if the blower is turned off.

Awesome job, man! Well i love white lighting. Stupid toyota engineers decided it was fun to cause daltonism by throwing whatever color they could come with...

    Congrats man

It worked fine until I did the swap. Everything else works fine, except the A/C light always staying on.

So I had a similar issue when I first installed mine. The AC light was blinking at first then shut off then it would work. Then as you described the AC button light would stay on. This is how I fixed the issue. Maybe it will help.

Back when I took the control panel apart to see if I could swap the black parts to the old silver ones, I took apart the motor speed piece's. I later realized I put everything back together wrong. The spring was in the wrong spot, the little metal bracket wasn't lined up right and that tiny little red ball was not in it's rightfull spot. Not having these in correct can effect the way the control panel runs. Pop it open and take a look, worth a shot.

If not then my last three thoughts would be a wiring issue with the harness, a faulty control panel or a polarity issue.

I ordered a new Control panel because my LEDs wouldn't turn on and I noticed that the floor vents weren't closing lol. (I plan on selling the old one after the new on arrives.)

These come from salvaged tacos, sometimes they're not perfect.

Pin 1 should go to 13 not 16. I made the same mistake and my AC button would not turn off. Moved the pin to 13 and it worked.IMG_1047.jpg05-08 to 12-15 Climate Control.jpg

I have a 2010 Tacoma and put pin 1 into the new pin 16, the wiring guide you have posted says 05-08, should I still try it? Also thank you for replying and adding the wiring diagrams, much appreciated.

It'll work. Same harness wiring diagram for all. 08 and down have to change the polarity on the circuit board. 09+ don't :blahblah:
