As of Friday, I am now a VFtune Pro-Tuner. (still waiting to be put on the map). I will be getting a website and FB page up soon to make it easier to find me and get in touch. I am working on getting a 3rd gen AT with the Mag. supercharger on a dyno for a 100% custom tune.

Located in Stafford, CT, near the MA line and not far from RI. I travel around CT regularly and can arrange to meet you if convenient.

I am still offering tuning services, however prices have changed. Everyone that I have already tuned, nothing changes.

Standard OVTune 2.0 $400
Flash of up to 2 different files to your truck. You will be able to pick one to test out for at least 500 miles to see how you like it. If you do not like it, or just want to try something else you can try another file and pick which one you like.

Inculded *FREE* with all tunes:
Updating your ECM to the most recent Toyota calibration (where applicable/available).
Dealer customizations (Techstream) like disabling seat belt chimes, changing unlock behavior from keyfob, and adjusting turn signal flash counts.

Add-on 1: $50
Edits to the base tune for AGM charging voltage, shift points, throttle response, throttle limits ETC. I.E. Anything that is a user preference.

Add-on 2: $25
Additional flashes/files.

Groups/travel: Will travel within reason for groups of 5 or more. Non-Refundable desposits are required.

Everyone will be required to sign a hold-harmless agreement (waiver) before I even connect my computer to your truck. While the process is very straight forward and there is very little risk of anything going wrong in the future, you must be willing to accept this risk. I have been flashing my personal truck for 3+ years and have only had a problem one time with a very strange test file I was given. I am always prepared with jumper cables, charger, and brick recovery harness in the unlikely even that there is a problem.

Only 3rd gen Tacomas?

 

At this time yes. Only 3.5L, 2016+ tunes are available. There is the possibility that something may be available for the 2.7 in the future but I do not know yet.

I can do customizations and TSBs for 2nd and 3rd gen.

No problem, I can do that too. Customization can be done for pretty much any Toyota Vehicle. TSBs can be done for any vehicle for which I can get them.

 

Where in the Northeast are you located ?

 

Northeast CT, near the MA line. I regularly travel for work to Hartford/Stratford/Groton.

 

Forgot to mention I can also adjust charging voltage for AGM batteries.

 

I will be in Connecticut a lot soon. My youngest is starting Quinnipiac University this fall.

Yes. With a decent amount of armor so it’s very much a slug.

That can be arranged. Are you looking to just keep the stock tune?

 

yeah I think so. There's no way for you to calibrate the speedometer to compensate for larger tires, right?

 

Unfortunately no, we can not adjust the speedometer at this time. That is handled by either the Skid Control ECU or the gauge cluster which we do not have access to (yet?).

If you have larger tires and/or gears, the tune can adjust your shift points to compensate. In addition, throttle response and linearity of power is much improved even with 87 octane.

 

Ok then I would consider altering the tune too. How would this differ from what the OvTune does? And do you have a rough ballpark what your cost is going to be?

 

These are the OVTune files that we can make edits to. Now that he has released the VFTune software, those of us with the license and files are able to flash other trucks.
