I meant that jokingly. But really though, are people really that bothered by a tiny chrome ring on a tiny mirror adjuster?

 

I don't like chrome. So I get rid of it when I can, especially when it's easy. "Bothered"? Sure. Chrome is dumb. It has no place on a truck. Especially for those of us who actually use it as a truck.

If you are that bothered by people deleting all the chrome they can get their hands on, why are you even commenting on it? Wouldn't just using the word chrome get your "jimmies in a twist"?

 

It actually doesn't bother me at all. It's your truck so you do what you please with it. I just find it kind of amusing is all, which is why I commented. Not because it bothers me.

As I stated from the beginning I was joking, poking some fun. Sheesh, some people on this forum take stuff way too seriously.

 

Are you painting it black or going with a color that matched your Tacoma?

 

@STi and Taco and @andrewkissam this whole thread was a bit of amusement / a joke / poking some fun, mostly at myself. I tried to convey that through the poll and body of the message...Perhaps I failed. Hope you guys had a good father's day, I wish I could have spent it with mine.

Replaced the entire controller.
The power fold controller I switched it out with came with no chrome.

 

Hope you had a good father's day as well! I was trying to convey some fun as well in my first post but I guess @STi and Taco doesn't know what a joke is/how to take a joke. If anything I said came across as negative I definitely didn't mean it to be taken that way.

 

You just pulled it and it came off? I pulled so hard and the whole panel with window controls and all came out and it still didn’t give!

 

It came right off and really didn't take much force at all?

 

I just took the whole switch out and ended up sticking 2 plastic interior pry bars on either side which popped it right off. The clear fiber optic piece in the inside was bent and sort of a white color from me pulling so hard. Luckily I had a second switch. I just needed to swap the chrome stalk for the black one from the donor switch. I had to swap the top piece As well using parts from my old switch because I bought a black switch from a member on here and it was all scratched up on the top.

Agreed. Not sure what's up with the anti chrome obsession around here but hey whatever floats your boat.
