Do you recommend an angle or no angle on your rock sliders?

I definitely want them to protect the truck from rocks or other debris, but I also want to use them as a step.

Does a 0 degree angle really effect the ground clearance?

    Thank you!

No it doesn't but the gained amount of extra step from 0* isn't really that noticeable. I run 15* and still use them as steps. Biggest difference is fill plates or not.

    Good to know!

Is there a benefit to the fill plates?

Fill plates make it so you don't send a foot through it (if you have smaller feet aka a good amount of women) also big plus for animals I've come to see.

Also little more surface area so slipping may not be as bad. The use of regular angled sliders vs 0* depends on what you're looking for. As a step? Might see if you can find someone local to get in and out. To use as a step to get on top of your truck ? Both work similarly.

Too many but also not enough mods
I went with 10 with fill plates but sliders were custom made by @Skell

Also adding skate board tape, a rubberized coating to the top, or some other non skid surface really helps when they are wet for traction as a step.

Our sliders can be ordered from 0*-18*

Some angled sliders are too close to use as a step.

With an angle they are going to divert you off more hazards for sure. A V-bottom boat vs a flat bottom boat comes to minds. If you want to slice through the waves you want the V-bottom I would think.

Ah, but the flat bottomed boat is more stable in the water; it won't rock from side to side like a V hulled boat will! :duel:

    Sorry for the hijack! :hattip:

Never heard of @Skell I'll look into whether or not that's an option.

I was thinking a slight angle like 5* or 10* angle because I want a step and clearance. The boat example makes sense

I plan on ordering the sliders bare and then having the Rhino bed lining sprayed on. Got quoted $150 for spraying, here locally, much less than when ordered

I got 20 degree w/ kickout but honestly, if I do it again I’d go with 10 or 0 degree. Mostly because on a angle I feel my door gets pretty close to things. Unless I’m hung up on the kickout.
