They will not I've asked. My local guy would but he laughed saying it'd be as big as a box trucks DS and would be worse than the factory.

I've got a Tom Woods driveshaft in mine, ACLB though. Loving it so far and no vibrations. I was originally gonna get another factory shaft but wanted something that had thicker tubing. A Woody was a little more expensive than a factory shaft. Only downside is it's just a tad lower, not by much and it hasn't given me any issues. I think he doesn't make a shaft longer than 72' is because of the structural integrity of the shaft too. You could get a custom shaft made, and if you do replace the ujoint by the carrier bearing with a double cardan joint. That should really help with the vibrations

You need to research driveline angles and such with a 2 piece shaft. There is a great thread on here about the 2piece one piece debate and some really good solutions that also talks about the driveline angles

Got ya. Well now we know the actual length.

Oh, that's with 1" lift, but rear springs are now flat :(

Thanks for the feedback. I'm really hoping I'm doing this research in vain, but I'll feel better having done it in advance.

I'm working my way through this thread, which is presumably the one you mentioned. @cwadej, it's a good (if long) read.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/drive-shaft-vibrations-solved-step-by-step.244535/

I'd like to simplify the troubleshooting and installation process, which is why single piece shafts got my attention. There seems to be significantly more margin for error, which is great for someone who knows nothing about vehicles like me.

So, to sum this thread up: it isn't realistic to get a single piece driveshaft made for DCLB trucks, because it would have to be massive in diameter. The diameter would cause issues with excessive rotational mass (affecting acceleration and possibly fuel economy) as well as interference with other parts of the truck's undercarriage. Is that correct?

If so, I guess my next question is... what now? What if the shims and carrier bearing drop and rain dancing and chicken sacrifice don't cure my vibes? Is there some alternate solution?

I haven't had any issue with mine with only a drop for the CB. The rest of your questions there is a lot of detail in the thread I linked.

Yeah, I'm seeing the double cardan joint added aft of the carrier bearing as a possible solution, but that sounds very expensive. Again, only needed if things get REAL bad.

That's my plan, unless the installer dude has one already.

screw all that. get a local machinist to make you a solid one. No worries about diameter, or weakness.

    no, not serious

Basically the thread that @ovrlndkull linked. I honestly think that might be the best solution. It's definitely something I would do if I had a DCLB

A little feedback from someone that has owned two Tom Woods one piece drive shafts :

    1. Doubt they would make one for a dclb, I had to go with a 4” dia shaft just for a dcsb and it barely and I mean barely clears my gas tank when the suspension compresses. Anything bigger than 4”=no fn way it would fit.

    2. There are two major issues with a long drive shaft first is the DS rpm and second is your gearing. Even with a dcsb and 4:30 gearing you can’t drive over 80mph before and I quote Tom Woods “ your drive shaft will turn into a jump rope “. With second gen stock 3:73 gearing you can begin to feel a vibe around 90mph.

A 1 piece does not guarantee you anything, sometimes it will take away ALL the vibes, and sometimes it does NOTHING for your truck and you end up wasting $600.

That's one of the reasons I still have my factory shaft still. I know I'll probably have to ditch the single piece eventually. I went the Woods mainly because of the thicker tubing. My oem shaft got dented up pretty good so I wanted something that was stronger
