Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Today is a day of sadness and of joy, for I said goodbye to an excellent friend and hello to a new one.

It was not an easy decision, but I have sold my beloved Tacoma. It was a classic case of "it's not you, it's me". I thoroughly enjoyed my 2017, but the last year or so my left knee has been giving me trouble and daily driving a stick has become something that pains me even though I prefer it.

I could've bought an auto commuter but with a wedding in the works as well as plans to further my education, tapping into the equity I've built into the Tacoma and eliminating my monthly payment was enticing.

So after months of hemming and hawing, and a couple months of looking, today I drove to the next state to pick up this new squeeze:

It was hard to say goodbye to my taco, I may or may not have blasted this as I drove away, tears in my eyes

As the late great Vonnegut once wrote, so it goes.

TL;DR sold my taco, bought a 4runner. Still plan on wasting time on TW.

I mean, I still love that truck, I just don't own it anymore. I would've liked another Tacoma but it wouldn't be the same for me without the 2TR and 5spd.

Take all the time you need in the anger stage, it's my favorite stage of grief

That is how the 2015 chebby Colorado done me when I pulled out to pass someone. 1st time I pulled out to pass in the 2016 Tacoma SR5, 2.7 I liked to had a head on collision.

I do miss the ‘05 V8 runner. Damn that thing was so fun to drive on the curves out in the country. The ‘19 is nice but if it only had the V8 in it.

( quoted an snipped) ... but the last year or so my left knee has been giving me trouble and daily driving a stick has become something that pains me even though I prefer it... ( end snip and quote)

Two years ago, after 40 years of driving and LOVING a stick, my knees finally demanded that I wimp out and go back to an auto.

Definitely a bummer as I love driving manual, I'll buy another one once I can swing a second fun vehicle. Wish I got as long as you, I'm only 31 and trying to save my knees while I still can.
