They're 2.0 final maps, they just don't have gear-lock and map switching features added in yet

No, we are saying two different things.
    Let me re-word this again.......

For those that ARE bogging, do you all have THX?

    What wasn't answered?

The files he released were p5F files. If you read other posts before that one in context you would reasonably understand that to mean that he will be releasing p5F files that include gearlock. Gearlock was changed to S mode from using ECT a while ago too, and it is in the first post.

Trying not to beat a dead horse, but your initial speculation was that all people that were bogging seemed to have THX.

I stated I wasn’t experiencing bogging and I have THX.

So in an attempt to help narrow down, I offered that maybe the bogging could be related to the ECU people are on that are using THX.

You might be onto something. I’m also 04A61, THX, and any bogging that I had on any previous tune is not present on this one.

Another data point here. 04A61 THX here and I’m a super happy camper (though no big hills, just highway overpasses so far).

For the 2019 guys, is anyone experiencing the hard downshift without THX or is the hard downshifting only happening for those using THX?

Im trying to figure out if I should use THX or not on my 2019.

Seems to be something different with 04A61 and 04B0* that is causing issues. Everyone with a 2018 seems to love it.

I used the regular for about 75 miles before going thx. That downshift was there also, but didn't feel as intense.
Either way, I don't have the 500 miles, but I'd expect to feel it either way on a fresh tuning.

Same here, stock premium 04A61 THX and while I don't have 500 miles on the tune yet I've been very satisfied with acceleration, tip in, holding gear at 65-75 on the highway. Slight acceleration into the passing lane both with just some pressure, then when I ask for more it downshifts like I expect. No real hilly trips yet. MPG to be determined after more miles.

My check in after a couple of tanks on my 19. I put in low octane thx 33”.

first off the truck feels “normal” which is a good thing, nothing mind blowing to note like some of the performance tunes of past but again the truck feels like a car should I suppose.

the tip in is great and I’m getting 20-21 mpg. The only only complaint, if you can call it that, is it seems like take off etc is super easy but once you get into later gears or go up slight hills I feel the need to push the pedal more than I did on older tunes but all the shifting seems great. I do wonder if that is because I went 33 and will try stock after a few more tanks unless being on a slightly larger wheel than I have tune would have no bearing on that.

All in all it seems the entire goal of this tune has been achieved, it feels like the truck should.

    thanks Matt!

I've experienced the hard downshift from 6th to 4th gear a couple of times in the first 100 miles, but I'm waiting until I hit about 500 miles before I draw any conclusions or judge the tune as a whole.

I went ahead and flashed back to 19770 (2.0 beta), took a test drive to the interstate (1 mile away) and jumped on. Set cruise control and went over a couple overpasses. RPMs only went up a few hundred RPM going over the overpasses. Truck felt like it was back to MY normal truck.
19770 is MY TUNE! Best for MY TRUCK. I’m okay with that and will continue to run 93 octane and enjoy driving my truck.
If any of y’all VFtuner guys ever make a tune that replicates 19770 on 87 octane, with a working ECT and no gear lock, I’ll buy it and try it! Until then, I am a very happy customer.
    HAPPY FATHER’s DAY BOYS!

Took a couple hundred mile trip from Denver to Buena Vista (several passes throughout the mountains for those who don’t live here) loaded down on 04B31 regular THX blah blah. My truck is a 19 with 35s armor everywhere and 5.29s. Normally on this trip I’d expect to get 11-13 on the trip computer but I ended up getting 16.2 on the new tune. At first I hated the way this tune drove in comparison to the last 2019 beta but now after 500 miles the truck is driving fantastic and I’m blown away that it’s getting this type of mpg. Everything is super smooth.

600 miles driven on 04A61 reg 33" thx stock gears.

Drove 500 miles this weekend including 4 passes above 10,000 feet. Surprisingly, I averaged a little above 20 mpg the whole time. For me, the throttle response is great. It seems like the truck has more consistent power throughout the rpm range. No bogging issues.

Shifting is smooth, probably my favorite out of any version. But the big jump in rpms when the truck downshifts while traveling uphill under load is annoying. Nothing OVTune can do about that though... I foresee some 4.88s in my future.

FWIW, 04b04 running the Premium, 33" THX file here. Still only 125 miles or so on the tune, but the only time I experienced anything that could be described as "bogging" was in the first 15 miles after resetting LV/AT. Once that settled down it's been great (at least for my truck so far).
