Hey there. My 2001 Tacoma was rear ended a few weeks ago and the collision place can’t seem to find the “SR5” or “4X4” chrome emblems, decals or whatever they’re called. I’ve poked around and can’t find them but I know they have to be out there somewhere. Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks in advance.

SR5 emblems are long discontinued. You can’t buy them anymore. If you look on eBay they’re going for hundreds even thousands of dollars for a full set of emblems.

If you really wanted, you can use the 2nd or 3rd Gen SR5 emblems which are still made.

If I couldn't get emblems, I think this is the next best option. Oem font but a sticker.
Those look great man. Would look cool in like a white or dark gray on the silver tacos

I would suggest JamesDeanCreations.com. He can provide alternatives if you can't find OEM or facsimile badges. He does great work! http://www.jamesdeancreations.com/

Hey Man! Thanks for remembering and asking! At first, I admit that I wondered whether I did the right thing or not! I mean, in my 3rd generation, there were alarms going off all the time, lights flashing, the dang brake would brake when I did not want it to, and the dang transmission was constantly down shifting WAY too many gears, and I could almost go on and on! BUT, after it was broken in, I learned about some of those dang lights and alarms, etc, and with the insanely GREAT gas mileage I am getting on the new one, I am happy with the purchase of the 2019 TRD Sport! I had no complaints about the 1996 Tacoma Xtra cab that I was the original owner of, and I had gotten used to things like it handled bumps in the road really bad, it had no power going up hills, and it did not have cruise control! BUT, I had just gotten so used to it that I really did love that truck! BUT, all in all, I am glad I did buy the new one, although I am almost to the point where I do wish I had gotten "visitation rights" to my old truck when I sold it! I often wonder how it is doing, and how the guy who bought it, likes it. He was meticulous like me, so I know it is being well taken care of, which I am happy about! But whenever I get into the new truck, and it rides SO smoothly, and it has CRUISE CONTROL, well, once again, I am happy I did what I did. Thanks for asking!

    I’m the original owner too,
I’m glad my 97 has the OEM Cruise control and a supercharger that runs will run circles around the new Tacoma’s,
But I hate how rough these 1st gen ride tho,
I’m still more than happy with my old truck still tho.
The new Tacoma is pretty high tech now and offers alot,
Should probably have a new and old one haha

Yeah, THE RIDE on the first gen! I knew before I bought my 96, that it was known to have a rough ride, but I take those reviews sometimes with a grain of salt. Anyway, the review turned out to be correct, in that it did have a rough ride. But I had gotten so used to it that I didn't really notice it much unless the wife rode with me and she would complain about bumps in the road, etc. And yes, the new ones are full of tech, and I admit that that does worry me a little, in that I hate to think of what it will cost me to fix some electronic thing that goes wrong, later on!

My brother had a 2008 Tacoma with 60,000 miles and the immobilizer system went haywire.
The truck went to three different dealerships and nobody was able to fix it Even after $3500 with a new computer still in the truck would not start whenever decided it didn’t want to start Toyota wanted another $2500 to replace the whole wiring harness in the truck so he was forced to dump the truck with the history of it not being able to start consistently, Fortunately thats something the first generation Tacoma’s will never have to worry about,
Keep that warranty as long as u can

Good one! I admit that it did take me a while to get used to it! I always back into my driveway, so I can then just pull out, but for a while, when i would pull out of my driveway, one would have thought I was driving a tractor-trailer or something, the way I would angle out of the driveway! But after a while, i got used to the big hood and especially, the hood scoop. The funny thing is, when I get into my wife's 96 Rav4, WOW! I feel like I am driving a Smartcar or something, since it is SO small compared to my TRD Sport!
