I dig that a lot. Any chance you could get an exact length on the grip+lockons so I can figure out exactly which grips I can swap in for a similar fit?

I think you just found my next mod, thank you!:headbang:

Mind sharing what parts you used?

M8x1.25 nut coupler tack welded into a 7/8 od steel pipe (close enough to 22mm). Paint to finish.

epic story and your new ride looks sweet. Glad it all worked out for you. I see you’re planning on an 11 speed drivetrain, but I’d recommend a 12. It’s the current standard and that lowest gear is pretty much only good for super steep climbs but it’s amazing to have when you need it.

I'll have to look into it for sure. As much as I'd like to, I think my hub is only compatible up to 11-speed. Unless there's ways to make it fit?

If you have a Shimano HG driver, you can get the Sram NX 12 speed cassette, it’ll fit

then you can get NX, GX, XO shifter and derailler. They are all interchangeable.

No worries. I know it’s from all these tourist hikers getting cabin fever from Covid. I just got tired of watching it accumulate

He spent 2.5 weeks trying to true the wheel and after failing miserably, he sipped on down to his LBS who fixed them in 1 hour and even replaced 7 of the spikes he didn’t know he bent.
