My parents had rented a house on the Jersey shore that summer.

Nice...saw them live in 84. Still have the ticket stub. Wang Chung opened for them...

 

Cool! I saw them at a San Antonio night club long about 1996. it was cool as you could stand 4-5 fest away from them.
I lost some of my hearing that night.

The last concert I went to was (what was left of) The Clash at the Aragon Ballroom Chicago in May of 84.

Me and my group were close to the stage and at one point in the show Joe Strummer was talking about “peace and understanding “ if you can believe that. He said “everybody wants that, right?”

I remember screaming out “Fuck no”- he was visibly taken aback.

Well, I thought it was funny...lol

Ya, was the first concert for me (stadium) that jolted me into the...man, they don't sound nearly as good live as they do recorded.

Fortunately I been to many other bands that sounded as good or better live.

The Cars weren't one of them...this is demonstrative of that
