LIFT KITS

I am looking into getting a lift kit, want to mitigate cost if possible so I am not wasting money but I am willing to spend quite a bit. I am looking at the
ICON 0-2.75″ LIFT KIT STAGE 10 BILLET FOR 2016-2020 TOYOTA TACOMA

Anyone know anything about this one? or have any other suggestions.

Icon gets a pretty bad rep as far as their Customer service...they make a good leaf pack, but I wouldn’t buy their shocks. For the cost of that kit you could save a few bucks and get something better like ADS, Kings, Bilstein 8112’s...or even the Fox 2.5 dual adjustment setup. However, you should be buying suspension based on your needs. Do you really need billet UCAs? Do you really need performance coilovers? You may not be happier with a more expensive kit because it doesn’t meet your needs.

Best option is to do 2-3 weeks of research then make your decision based on what you find out you need.

 

Jumping on here with a question for the group. Looking for some recommendations on 2.5" -3" lift that maintains a decent ride quality for a daily. I've read alot of guys are running 5100s w/ OME 887s and AAL, but I'm interested in all sorts of opinions.

 

There is a ton of kits. The Eibach PRO lift kit is probably one of the best for the $. Keep in mind that anything beyond 2" of lift will diminish the ride quality and cause issues for your CV axles (unless you go with a drop bracket lift, but I would steer away from that idea because of cutting the frame).

Stay away from OME complete kits. I had the medium kit and it rode very harsh compared to the others mentioned. Check out the Eibach PRO kit, its around $550-$600 for the suspension upgrade and a leaf pack will run you another $500-$900...again depends on your needs. Many customers reported positive things with that kit.

 

I dont believe you will get more than 2" from 5100's. This has been covered at nauseum so best thing to do is spend some time looking over existing threads with tons of great info.

I'm waiting for the Eibach lift kit to be in stock. I've added the strut assembly and an AAL and my cost will be around $900.

Yeah for that money I'd be looking Fox or King

 

I went with Fox 2.5 resi front and 2.0 resi rear, adjustable. Way better and way cheaper.

 

What weight front springs? I assume its great off road, how's it ride on road?

 

kept the springs that came with the COs, not sure what weight they are though. Rides great on road, brake dive is gone. Massive improvement over stock. It feels like they are stiffer than stock because of the brake dive going away and no lean during turns, but the ride feels smoother and more balanced while driving.

 

I been wanting to get this setup . What did you pay for it ?
