I sent this to my 4Runner buddy. He’s working on building some drawers, maybe he’d take the short cut lol

I've never considered building a drawer system. Time and effort aside, how much would materials run ya? Plywood, slides, hardware, etc?

Obviously the ARB would exceed the quality of most DIY jobs... $600 may not be that ridiculous.

I liked the idea of a drawer system with (sleeping) platform, but the price was similar to this one which I wasn't interested in.
If anyone is wanting something like this I highly recommend Third Coast Craftsman's build on Youtube - CLICK HERE - simple and basic build. You can create it for your truck bed dimensions/what you want

He says his parts cost him ~$400. I bought all my materials and I'm sitting around $250

The build so far (just the frame, still have to build drawers):

Mine cost about $250ish in wood I'd guess. Only one drawer, used these little baby casters instead of a drawer slide

I’ve always built all my own interior set ups. You can definitely save money going that route but it’s all dependent on what your times worth! Haha So a good deal on a prebuilt unit works awesome if you can swing it!

I got my materials for free from a neighbor that moved. I used 6-8’ 2”x10” and two sheets of 3/8” plywood a pound of screws and a quart of black paint and a little wood pudy. The initial build took about an hour and a half to come up with something and put it together. I winged it without a plan. I spent another day after work breaking all the edges with a sander and painting it. I tried to keep it super simple and cheap. No fancy drawer slides and didn’t go to the ends of the earth to find a the lightest materials. Down, dirty and simple. I can take 12 screws out and it comes right apart and stacks in the shop. I built the box’s a 1/4” smaller than the openings and have ran a garden hose on it to soak the wood even filling the boxes all they way up to see it they will swell and stick and they won’t.

depending on the design it’s 250-400 probably. I started pricing it out but ended up finding a sweet setup already made with integrated foam for sleeping for 80 bucks. It’s a bit used but does the job and didn’t require hours of building.

Probably not worth much. Especially if you don't have a PTO.
