Hey folks! Need opinions.... im going to be making a "riker" style display case for some of my arrowheads and I am kinda torn between cherry and walnut. The cherry is a nice red and I have a few colors of walnut to choose from. Picked up the glass and hardware today so what do y'all think? Cherry....or walnut.......thanks!

So I built a jig for 2 sides on my cutting board and was gonna screw the other two sides in tight when I got all the pieces glued and down but it was like 90° outside and that must be the optimal temp for wood glue to dry because it was starting to set up before o got half the pieces down. So I put a think coat of glue on the back side and then when that was dry I sanded down the front side with 220 and filled in a few gaps with walnut saw dust and put a thick coat of wood glue over all of that. I'm gonna sand all that down as smooth and flush as possible and seal it up
    20200621_211017.jpg

And yeah it probably isnt quit square. I pushed the squarest edge against the fence and ran my miter on the side and then used the cut side as my reference for the rest of the cuts...

The grain is running in a lot of different directions. It may end up coming apart.

Oh ill be a little disappointed if it doesn't haha all of it already had a good bow to it and there isn't enough glue in the county to keep it together... But maybe it will look good for a pic or two
