    OK GREAT NEWS!

so there are 13 wires they want you to connect, but after going over the instructions, I figured I could just connect the basics and it should work.

    So thats what I did!

    I connected:

Red - +12 volt constant power input- straight to the battery
Black - chassis ground input - to a ground under the dash

out of the 10 wires on the major connection, that's all I did!

Then, there are 3 wires coming from the top of the unit,

Green - Door lock output (-) connected to the gray wire coming from the 22 pin plug on the front of the fuse panel

Red - (+) 12 volt constant power outlet connected to the white wire in the ignition switch harness.

Yellow - Door unlock output connected to the purple wire coming from the 22 pin plug on the front of the fuse panel.

if you look here, it shows you the wiring diagram for a 2001-2003 Tacoma
    http://www.commandocaralarms.com/wiring/2001-2003/Toyota/Tacoma/1579.html

And that's it! the only other one I would connect is the parking light wire so that the headlights turn on. but the dome light comes on with the power lock anyways, thats good enough for me.

I have just finished putting power windows and power locks with remote entry on my 1998 Tacoma 4x4, actually it was not that expensive or hard to do; the worst part was running all of the wiring. let me know if you guys want details.

Can you just combine the 2 constant hot wires to the white wire in the ignition harness?

I took on this project today so I thought I would add some pictures to supplement the previous directions.

*Disclaimer: I did this and it worked. I am in no way a professional electrician or mechanic. So take everything I say/show with a grain of salt.*

First disconnect you battery and here are some of the things you need...
    8CC1F9F4-2EE5-410A-B223-980ED1C4FEFF.jpg
Take off the lower stearing wheel cover. Splice in the lock (gray) and unlock (purple) with the corresponding wires on the module (I like to use the easy splicing clips)...
    04EBE678-9652-49BF-A073-1447941C22FB.jpg
After splicing in the lock and unlock wires then splice in the power into the 12V wire (white) for power...
    1FA6E32D-5273-435E-9AE2-BF37EF839710.jpg
Fully push down the pin to splice wires and now only have to ground the unit. After pinching the wires into the fitting and heat to shrink and bolt down to ground.

    0692E3FE-A5FC-448D-8250-762AE073341B.jpg
Now reconnect the battery and try you key fob. If it doesn’t work then check your splicing (I didn’t have a great connection at first).
Then just button everything up and drink beers (you can add the flashing lights but I also didn’t care about doing that.)

    Best,
    Jake
