Anyone responding just keep in mind the no politics rule. Mods have been enforcing it rather heavily lately. I'd hate to see some catch a 7 day vacation for offering their opinion on any upcoming legislation. We can discuss it in PMs, Facebook or texts though.

Update on the axle seals. Toyota will fix under warranty. They told me both axles were leaking.

Dude nice! Must've just been a coincidence with the skid plate hit then, because there's no way that would cause your seals to start leaking. At least no way I'm aware of. I wonder if the elevation changes is what caused some sort of pressure difference and them to blow out. Who knows, just glad they're taking care of it.

No didn't put it on. I told them I took it off so I can discover where the leak was. I didn't want to put on the new to me skid plates on and get them all oily from the leaking

I knew that was a thing on third gens for emission stuff but not earlier years. It makes sense.

 

I remember the first time that I heard it. It had me freaked out. I thought it might exist on 2nd Gens also.

 

So speaking of emissions, as I’m relatively new to NOVA, I just received notification from the DMV that I need mine done prior to renewing my registration. It goes out at the end of July and to be honest, I’m definitely concerned about it. Does anyone have any input about general info, places to go that may have more leniency, etc?

 

Do you have a check engine light on? Is your catalytic converter installed?
