Buy a Jeep. I'm heading to my Uncle's this afternoon to put new shocks and a TCM in his Jeep. He got 30K before leaks and a fried TCM.

Same here man. I mean yeah, the ride is stiffer and I wheeled the shit out of the stock setup before getting Billy 6112's a few months ago, but that was my only gripe. The Bilsteins ride much better, especially given that the truck is my daily as well and my region is filled with potholes and BRUTAL bridge expansion joints. But it never felt like I was endangering myself or getting to the point of losing control, and I went pretty fast down some of those fire roads.

Seriously. Upgrading the whole thing comes in at around a grand, or better yet, someone's TRD Off-Road take-offs can be had for a few hundred bucks. Take a few deep breaths and a nap before starting the complaint thread lol. Or take your complaint to the dealership because honestly, what he's describing sounds like a defect.

I spent 24k on my 2.7 4x4 5 speed SR access cab. And my truck rides WAY better than the OPs.

    Either it’s because

    1) he’s grossly overloaded with 4 passengers, a rooftop tent and 1/2 ton of armor

    2) one or more of his shocks are blown

    3) he’s exaggerating.

As soon as he brought up the “for 40k I shoulda got a something something” I tuned out.

This right here! I have a set of OE TRDOR suspension components sitting in my garage because there are so many in the market every time someone offers to buy, they say, hey never mind found a set closer. I have even offered to give them away.

Maybe don't inflate your tires to 45psi and try hitting that bump a little slower than 70mph, OP.

5100s and OME 885 coils front, 5100s and AAL for the TSB leaf pack (overload left in) rear. Jeraco camper shell.
This. Plus new springs and an AAL for the rear greatly improved my ride and load carrying. I don't think the stock is crap, it might not be suited to your needs, hence the TRD line. My stock suspension also had 75K on it before I swapped.

The OP ain't been back because all you big meenies with your hurtful and insensitive comments ran him off. Way to go meenies.

Seriously, why do people expect so much from a midsized pickup?? Don't like the suspension, replace it. It's not the end of the world.

Really? that was a great finish. This has potential and I wanna see where it goes. My poor Sport in the garage is gonna need a good self-esteem building after this solid blow to its image

Dont be silly. The obvious solution is butt implants. Need something to absorb the bumps in the road.

I was wondering the same thing about OP's shocks. Sounds like 1 or 2 or all of them might have blown, if the ride is really that bad. My Sport is very composed on the road. My 2017 OR was plush, but would nose dive when you hit the brakes and had more body roll in turns. I like the slightly stiffer shocks on the Sport and it still does a pretty good job of soaking up bigger hits going down the road. I'm definitely not getting any bouncing and it's never felt unsafe.

Lots of good options for aftermarket shocks though. Might as well lift it, throw some new wheels and bigger tires on there.

This. Get some better shocks like Eibach are Bilstein 5100s. I just had 5100s installed on my 2020 OR. I was surprised at how much it improved the ride over the factory Bilstein 4600s.
