Most car companies put crap speakers in their vehicles. Now make those new ones sound real good by slapping on some sound deadening.

Escape velocity achieved. Will be in Austin by the 24th. This is quite the haul from Minneapolis.

Be safe coming down - we have weather all the way from Missouri to the coast happening. Around Iowa you can expect to pick up a tail wind, so there's that.

Oh, and mask up when you gas up. Folks have gotten stupid and our case counts down here have gone apeshit. 500 new cases just yesterday.

I started out by typing that the 4Runner, my not yet wife's silver one, was shipped down in the semi trailer, but then realized you meant the red, Gen 0, Taco. That's actually a '93 Toyota pickup, with a Leer camper shell, designed to mimic what 4Runners looked like back then. Great little truck, I bought it in '93 with 630 miles, from a kid that never made the first payment on it, and drove it 136K miles, until 1/5/08, when I sold it after I bought an '07 FJ Cruiser. Dumbest vehicle move of my life; I traded the FJC in on a new Taco less than 2 years later.

Sad story, the guy that bought my '93 fixed cell towers for a living, and bought it to pull behind his motor home, as he traveled cross country. I found out he died of a heart attack just a couple of years after buying the truck.

Gorgeous little truck - clever shell.

Worst decision of my life was not getting a '91 (back in '91) and going with a cheaper car - if I had to do it all over again, I'd have gotten the truck.

I live in NW Austin, but okay to drive in Austin/RR/CP/GT area. Thanks in advance for any recommendations. (Photo enclosed of the finished brackets.)

This was the truck I had when I ran across that '93, (yeah, I've had Toyotas for awhile). I think it was an '86, might have been an '84, too lazy/busy to look it up. I swapped it and some cash to the guy that owned the '93. That shell on the back was an Owatonnan, made in Owatonna, Minnesota, about 40 minutes from where I grew up.

We managed to miss all the weather. First night was Kansas City, last night was Dallas at my kid sister’s place. We’re waiting the rain out until we finish the final push to Austin.

Also, regarding the masks; Minneapolis is a whole level of apeshit more than Texas... thus the move.

But not Austin. Protests every day. Avoid downtown and you’ll be okay.
