Yes. Sad truth is Toyota radios are a generation or two behind and middle of the road even on good days but cost as much as decent ones.

I've got the same issue. Extremely frustrating. I have swapped cables at the advice of my dealer and saw no improvement.

Has anyone else noticed the warning announcements in Android Auto Maps coming "after the fact"? I typically get warned of a speed trap ahead after I've passed it.

I have just started having this issue recently on my truck. Whenever i start the truck up and autoconnects bluetooth my google play music pauses and starts but the music is sped up. I don't have android auto in my 2017 and i am using a pixel 3. If i shutoff bluetooth on my phone and then turn it back on after 10 to 15 seconds it works properly. I thought it started happening to me after a recent update to my phone.

Swapped to a new 3' Dynex cable from Bestbuy. $7.99 and problem solved! I'll report back if any issues pop up, but it's night and day.

    Hi,

Slightly off topic, as I have a 2020 RAV4, which I just purchased over the weekend. Brand new to Toyota as well.

    I have a Pixel 3XL.

I love it, except my Android Auto Spotify skips when I have Google Maps enabled. My problems aren't quite as severe, as I only get a 1-2 second pause. I'm thinking (hoping) it may be a cable problem. Otherwise, I'm hoping I don't have to upgrade my phone or switch to CarPlay.

Frustrating, because I just bought the brand new car!

I have an LG V20, won't connect to android Auto at all. GF's Pixel 3s or whatever connects and everything works perfectly on the 2020 Taco.

Change your battery settings off of adaptive (pretty sure that was it.) Worked for me, it suuuucked. I also screwed around with a bunch of other options and really pissed it off. Then I figured all that out and it's exactly how I want it, immediately picks up what was playing when connected, doesn't skip, I'm as happy as can be. Galaxy S10 Unlocked, for reference.

Turns out the Google Play Services wasn't updating, which prevents android auto from working.

New phone worked great, then did factory reset on the old phone and that also worked great.

Make sure you have all the google play spyware installed properly and not disabled and it should work.

I'm having the same issue as the OP. It loads and works for the most part. But when I play music with Spotify and fire up a navigation app, the audio glitches intermittently. Only happens when multitasking. I may try wiping my phone but seems unnecessary.

Yeah, its odd that you get a little glitch every once in a while but never have any issues when running spotify just from bluetooth.

I would be pissed if I had paid for the new entertainment system and had to deal with this bullshit.

My one regret was not testing the Entune system and taking their word for it.

How does Toyota suck so bad at this?

Yea, people still use Android. I even had to take up Apple stuff and get Apple technical certificates for work and still use Android for my personal Device. OnePlus 7pro. Hope I don't have issues with it when I finally get my truck. I only have an Alpine head unit with Bluetooth and XM in the old Jeep not anything so fancy.

Update: three email exchanges and a phone call with corporate all resulted in pushing me off to the dealership. Went to the dealership and they validated the deck is fully up to date on software. They plugged a phone in and said it's works as intended. I was told to be patient for a software update. Emailed corporate again and they told me they have no way to troubleshoot without my vehicle and to continue working with the dealership. I'm in a holding pattern now I guess. Pretty horrible customer service from the corporate standpoint. I hope all will continue reporting these issues to Corp.
