Looking to replace our main living room fan. Wanted something bigger and to be like a focal point of the room. Anyone have any experience with BigAssFans?

    I really like the i6:

    https://www.bigassfans.com/fans/i6/

in the 6ft diameter configuration. Our house is like one long room that is the kitchen, dining room and living room and this fan would sit like in between the living room and dining room. The room, although I don't have exact dimensions is like 20x30ft maybe?

I know these fans are expensive so I was curious if anyone has experience with them or if there are much better cheaper alternatives.

I went with Fanimation TriAire units, no light fixtures. Dealer I used carried (and liked) BA fans, with several other higher end models. BA didn't have a style that caught our eye though.

So the TriAire have DC motors, variable speed, remote, ultra quiet, large blade pitch moves air at low speeds.

Not cheap, but worthwhile IMHO in the main areas. IIRC they are available up to 84".

I went with a simple bronze in 56" and 48" to compliment the dining and breakfast area lighting, which is bronze also. We weren't looking for focal points though. Our goal was function with clean lines, something that while you 'see' it, it doesn't scream 'look at me' (unless you are a fan fan ;))

That wasn't their original name. But people would call them and say...."are you the guys that make those big ass fans?".

So they thought it would be a catchy name and changed it years ago
