We also didn't count every person who died with a positive H1N1 test (or even just symptomatic) as an H1N1 death.

The state where I live, Colorado, got caught doing just that and had to lower the official death count. I have no doubt it's happening on a large scale.

My buddy’s wife is a nurse in Maryland. They’re under a ton of pressure to count everything as Covid even if it’s not he actual issue, because $$$$. She was pretty upset when she was telling me about a guy who ended up dying because he had Covid but she was (and is) convinced there was something else going on. He ended up dying in a manner that other Covid patients weren’t but it was filed under another Covid death

 

My flying has changed...only in the sense that I am 100% more on the lookout for any issues...just keeping alert when I can and being aware of things that I can use that I am legally permitted to bring on a plane. Metal ball point pen. You can bring a padlock (combination lock) makes nice brass knuckles. Belt and buckle. Jacket for defense against sharp weapons...I just don't fly contently...Soda can will do some damage unopened...and you can fold the can and make a nice blade...

This is my big thing...When I was in college in the 90's (gulp) it was already a simple task to engineer resistant strains of bacteria in 48 to 72 hours...
It's my belief that thus far the only reason we have not had a massive engineered pandemic is because those who are smart enough to know how to do it are also humane enough and sane enough to not do it...

No, but that's a good and bad thing. I think it has saved some lives, but it has also blown it up.

Remember MH370? My theory is that CNN told their team "STAY ON THIS UNTIL THE PLANE IS FOUND" and then the plane wasn't found in 2-3 days like they expected, but 3-4 weeks later they had to kind of sweep back into normal news instead.

Yeah, but then again we also didn't force it and it didn't find it's way there on its own. Who was it that compared it to putting a bunch of people with an allergy to Bees into a beehive? That was a good comparison.

First one that showed up, BUT China has been reporting asymptomatic positive tests as negative, so the testing numbers are flawed by design, since the number of recovered persons could be way, way higher by design of the testing. Not only that, the tests aren't super reliable.

Here's a PSA, no joke, I heard this. If you refuse to wear a mask on an airplane now, or take it off, whatever, they will put you on a list and you won't be able to fly again. I saw it on CNBC I think (the only channel I watch), do your own research, but they said something like that.

Edit: They made it sound like you may not know you were being put on the list, to deescalate the situation I guess, instead of making a big deal about it you're just added to the list.

I'm telling you there are a bazillion things that security doesn't look for and should...and it's really just the time constraints...
I am not going to make a list...But when chemists have discussions we never run out of possibilities that are entirely capable of happening under the current screening process...I am sure that the uppity ups know this...but what can they do? Someone making $20 an hour isn't going to be thinking this...My big thing is to watch out for repetitive detected compounds in a sniffer being discounted as a false positive. Human nature is to aquiesce to the demands of a group...but you have to treat every positive sniffer result as real....Don't EVER start waiving people through.

Its not like they are asking passengers to get a colonoscopy. It’s not that hard to wear a mask.

Bingo! I could just say it's for a medical reason. That said, they could probably still flag you anyway? Don't know. Whatever. Not flying anytime soon.

Depends on the flight - I couldn't sleep with the mask on, or if it came off while sleeping am I now a criminal? After a few hours I can use a break even if it's just for a few minutes.

 

Restrooms would certainly get busy with everyone trying hide in there to get a break from the masks

 

And can we all agree that's probably the worst place to take a break from wearing a mask??

 

Green NRGU and NAIL! I'm sitting on some just in case cash. I'm setting stop losses for nearly everything. I'd rather dump NAIL as as it slides to $24 than ride a skid and lose out on a 200% return.

 

Yeah, I might end up with that for NRGU instead is to ride it over 10 and then dump half and stop loss the rest at 10 or something. We'll see. I'm not green on NRGU though, I'm at 4.70. Hopefully this week.
