You can probably put your nose to the bottom of the bell housing and smell that the clutch got smoked. It's a awful smell.

You're the pro here, does that automatically mean abuse? I hear they are leaving the tranny coolers off some of these newer models. Some 3rd Gens were reporting a half a quart low of tranny fluid from the factory.

Usually only automatics have coolers. And a smoked clutch on a new vehicle is abuse.

What separates the need for a cooler between the two? Asking because I want to learn, not be an ass. :burp:

Also, still learning.......the components of a clutch can't just fail?

Do these trucks have some sort of history saver in them or is one of the Toyota warranty dept guys in this forum maybe...

bc they told I called back for more info and they told me they ran through the computer and saw history of tires slipping as if it had been in mud or something like that. As saying that it was off roaded and clutch took a big hit in the trip

Tires can easily slip anywhere with a clutch vehicle. Specially with all the rain and the roads being wet.

    Yessir.

I was able to get a new nut to go on and hold the pulley, but now my ALT belt is throwing a fit again so i’m replacing all the belts for the second time. I have no idea why Alternator belts on 3.4s are such a pain in the ass :pout:

I’m still not sure if i need that bracket right now or not, i’ll try to get the new belts on and see how that goes

Ok let me know by the weekend. If you do need it I'll bring it to the cabin with me. I use gear wrenches to adjust/replace the alt belt. The ps belt adjustment is a bit more of a pita for me.

Just saw this on FB. The original poster lives in Berkeley Springs which is near my cabin. I already have full coverage insurance on my SxS now I've gotta look into what it takes to get it registered & tagged.
