Decently I guess, only thrown one a couple of times and just put it back in the hard plastic packaging it came in.

Ha! Sounds like me with swimbaits. I only have a couple and when I use them, it’s a few casts before I go back to something else I’m confident with.

Haha pretty much. Just have never caught anything on a swimbait so don't have the confidence with them yet. I do have a dedicated swimbait rod though haha.

Berryessa was a tough bite today. Lost a jerkbait and crank. The jerkbait I lost still attached to the damn fish.

Nothing like some good ol fashion hospitality. Went fishing today. Up early for live bait in SF. Got to Sierra Pt, just about all our anchovies were dead. So sad, aerator line got pinched off. Random guy on the pier knew it was my first time there. Proceeded to share his live bait, Gatorade and sprite for my boy, gave us halibut ceviche from yesterday (soooo bomb) and all around super nice. Said he didn’t want his fishing spot to have a bad rep.

Thanks for the mojo Hugo. I’ll make sure to bring it back to my home spots. We were the only ones on pier who caught. Three shaker butts and a giant stingray...

Always with the sandals. Look like you kids had a good time! I'll be out in Oakland fishing sometime this week in the evening. I'll give you a heads up the day before.

Just picked up a 'starter' set for bass fishing and bought my fishing license

I'm itching to get going and fish for the first time. Where should I go first? How early in the AM should I aim to be fishing?

Fran, where are you located and how far are you willing to drive? are you looking to fish from shore?

Ah right! I should have clarified.

I live in the Sacramento area, no access to a boat, willing to drive around an hour at most.

Folsom has got some decent Bass Fishing. Never fished from the bank there but I'm sure it's decent.

Let me know. I'll come down and watch, while drinking beer. I don't have shore salt water gear.
