What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

How hard were they to remove? Im thinking of doing mine but didnt know how good they were stuck on.

 

I got the terminals from Amazon:

and I got the 0 AWG wire and crimped terminal connectors from a local car audio shop (Long Radio)

 

Two plastic rivets on the bottom of the corner protector were the hardest part. The plastic came off easy. I pulled slow and all the adhesive came off with it.

 

TRD off road's have an actual Tow Hook there on the passenger side and not that tie down.

 

Back in December I replaced the exhaust with a Toyota Catback. I tightened down the flange bolt as much as possible since there is a stop on the bolt. I have noticed a lot of condensation now at the flange. I'm going to replace the flange gasket, bolts and springs. Is there anything else I should do?

 

Did you heat it up or just peel it?

 

Scored an unused bpf skid plate and tow off the FB marketplace for $200! Now to get a license plate bracket from @ACEkraut

I updated the undercover snorkel with some spectre duct AFTER the elbow. So basically it's just a long pipe of spectre duct with no ridges (this cancelled out any and all sounds from a flexing intake in the sheet metal of the truck).

I didn't get a picture but it's not hard to picture in your head.

NAH I TOTALLY LIED. HERE'S SOME PICTURES. Yes, that's gorilla tape that I used to test my theory that the fittings wouldn't move with a modicum of grip. So I'm going to get some HVAC foil tape and finish the job in the near future.

 

For Father's Day, I upgraded the stock sound system and added some sound dampening to the doors. Kept the head unit and added a Kicker Key amp, Kicker Hideaway subwoofer, and new kicker speakers and tweeters. For the sound dampening, I did the inside and outside of the doors.

Night and day difference in the sound quality and I could not be happier. If I could change one thing, I would have worn the gloves the entire time when adding the sound dampening materials. My hands have more cuts than a depressed 14 year old. . .

 

You did the whole inside of the door? You're a better, more patient man than I. I only did behind where the 6.5" was mounted vs the entire thing.

I dont have a hydraulic crimper etc for big wire, do have a rachet type....just because im a little goofy once I've finished the crimp I drill a small hole in the toe of the crimp and carefully solder it....don't need to if ya have a good crimper...for the few joints I do didnt think it justified the ......

 

I bought a 0 awg hydraulic crimper from harbor frieght for $35 with a coupon.

 

Got the truck inspected, failed for spongy brakes, rack and pinion, and a tire had a broken belt.

Took Tomorrow off.
Tires at 8am, $700
Calipers and pads $250
Rack $360
Probably new tire rod ends, a bunch of fluids.

Tomorrow is going to be expensive

Packed up and went to play airsoft again. I wanted to go every weekend this year but thanks to corona, that didn't happen.
This is one of the main reasons for buying a Tacoma, I can put whatever in the back and not worry about where the parking is located at some of the bigger games.
I went to a game in Pennsylvania and had a Lexus ES350 at the time that did not like the ruts and tall grass getting to the parking area.

When I've completed most of my mods/projects I might also use the truck in a game as a "technical".
