Packed up and went to play airsoft again. I wanted to go every weekend this year but thanks to corona, that didn't happen.
This is one of the main reasons for buying a Tacoma, I can put whatever in the back and not worry about where the parking is located at some of the bigger games.
I went to a game in Pennsylvania and had a Lexus ES350 at the time that did not like the ruts and tall grass getting to the parking area.

When I've completed most of my mods/projects I might also use the truck in a game as a "technical".

I do I have a set of TC stiffners, I took a fairly hard hit last time I was out and shifted the bed pretty good which caused some separation which I'm sure the cap added too the force of the hit, Ill be taking the bed off and fixing it in about two weeks.

I wonder when raptor owners will start doing the raptor LED light delete mod because every other tacoma and 4runner seem to have the same style lights. I've seen a guy local to me that has a colorado with raptor lights, it's starting to get out of hand :bananadead:

QUESTION? Ok my bed got hit on the right corner and rippled my rear quarter. Can I demand a new bed ? Or will they cut and weld a new quarter panel? I do not want bondo in my truck. Also when I told them we needed to discuss value depreciation due to Carfax They are gonna have a different department talk to me. I am waiting for the wrap people to send me an estimate for a full replace. They said it would not match cause it being a few years old.

I have a hard time seeing them doing bodywork when the bedside unbolts so easily
time versus money would dictate they would just replace the bedside

Added a few more patches today,

    20200622_192732.jpg

Swapped out the corrupted USB wires for 3.0 USB. Wish they were black but they made a huge difference.

    20200622_194015.jpg 20200622_171905.jpg

Changed out a few halogen bulbs with super white LEDs

    20200622_192628.jpg
    20200622_192554.jpg

And finally, I got around to covering the back wall in the cab. I custom fit a thick 3/4" thick rubber mat with Velcro strips so that it can be taken off or reversed with ease. It cut out the road noise and didn't block the air pressure vents. This is the precursor to a full MOLLE rack. I think it turned out really well.

    Raptor is a fuel-hungry $50k+ vehicle
people who own them likely make over $100k a year.
I doubt such people spend a minute of the day thinking about what other people are doing with their entry-level compact pickup trucks.

Ya I bet there hasn't been one raptor owner who noticed one of the 1000's of trucks mimicking their grill and thought "poser" :duh:

Today I did the inverter 400watt anytime mod and in-cab outlet. Did a under tonneau lighting mod over the weekend... (ever wanted to reach something that managed to slide to the front of the bed at night?)

I love mine and it has held up very well.

Changed my spark plugs and oil last weekend. No pics of the plugs but they looked pretty good, so I'm happy. Ready for a long trip up to MT/ID

Do you have any pictures of the damage? Without that we are all making guesses but most likely what foxrcing07 said, our beds are not solid units like most other trucks. Composite floor bolts to the frame then the bedsides bolt to it. They will simply pull the star bolts in the bed slide it back and unbolt the damaged quarter panel. If your composite bed broke anywhere they will probably replace that as well but if its literally just the quarter panel metal they will remove the old, paint a new to match, and install it.

If the damage doesn't stop you from driving it and your brake light still works any competent shop will assess the damage get a list of parts (bed, quarter, flaps and plastics) send you on your way until they have all the parts. They will probably paint the quarter ahead of time then call you back in for a rip and replace.

*Edit* - Here is a youtube video on some kid replacing a damaged rear quarter in an afternoon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzcKqcyK9PQ
