I just got back from a scoot in the rain. I went out in the rain intentionally because I wanted to see how the road surfaces would feel when they’re wet, and also just to build confidence and get the experience.

It went well overall! I learned to be extra careful around expansion joints, manhole covers, painted lines and crosswalks, and most definitely - tar snakes.

I freaking hate tar snakes, especially in turns. I was wondering if anyone else called them that too. They have been putting in ramp meters on I25 here in denver and laid down tar on all the seams. Nothing beats entering the highway in a turn at 70 miles an hour and feeling the whole bike just go wonky.

Hate them. They get real fun when it's 5pm and been 100 degrees all day.

I have the knobbies. Can’t wait to get rid of them and put sticky tires on. But I have ridden the thing 20 miles in the last month.

Took my daughters up to Mt. Rainier today. I was telling my oldest on the way up about how roughly a month into my motorcycling experience I went up that road. It used to be riddled with tar snakes. Tight technical turns, no guardrails, big open valleys, a huge mountain looming..........and tar snakes. Scared the shit out of me all the way up.

Plenty of tar snakes on the country roads I ride. Hard to avoid them all, always hoping one of them doesn’t get me. :ballchain:

Hmm... That person would have had to steal it 21 days ago and have a box laying around.

Just did a craigslist search. Nothing I can’t live without. I will say everybody and their brother is selling their Harley right not. Kind of crazy how many harleys are for sale!

SP1s are the early model RC51s, SP2 RC51s have an updated swing arm and better cooling.....
