These days I recommend cams from blackvue, thinkware, or viofo the most. Anker is popular and ok, Vantrue makes some really interesting good quality cameras. Big thing for new dash cam owners to realize is the video quality is almost never as good as what people expect, especially when they get a 2 channel cam. video capturing license plates at night or at high speed can be very challenging for a camera if it doesnt have high bitrate. often times people focus on just the resolution (and don't fall for fake 4K cameras, a true native 4K camera will have an 8 MP or higher image sensor, 4 MP is not high enough but some companies know some people wont realize) but frame rate and even more so bitrate matters a lot. Some newer cams use lower bitrate h.265 encoding though that allows 4k and lower bitrates then h.264 that most cams have used for years.

coincidentally i sold @riz_atx a mygekogear cam and now I am trying to sell another one from mygekogear that I reviewed recently. They aren't a hugely popular brand so its hard to get interest on eBay. It seems like people would rather buy some crappy $30 no name cam over mygekogear even though they are actually pretty decent. It's not the best camera out there but its not bad for the price they ask. mygekogear so far that I have tested seems solid. I am usually not a fan of this style of cam though that makes it very visible. My review:
