I work tomorrow too; Tuesdays are my busy days being both the sales manager and the finance manager.

So I’ve got a 2000 Toyota Tacoma 5 speed 4x4 rr diff lock and 230k miles, cruise control isn’t working/ engaging, light come on and says it in cruise, and when I hold the lever down it doesn’t engage, any ideas? I’m going to go thru the fuses tomorrow, otherwise my other question is wether it’s a vacuum cruise control or other? Thanks guys

Clutch pedal pressure and brake pedal pressure both cancel cruise without turning it off. It sounds like one of those switches is canceling it before it can even set, which is why the light stays on.
Check clutch switch and brake pedal switch that the switches return freely and disengage all the way.

Let me just erase what I was typing lol. Yeah usually it's as simple as that switch. Probably a good time to inspect the spring, it's bushings (if any are left), and the other switches down there.

It can certainly be deeper than the switches but seems to be a good place to start m,any seem to fix their cc with something they find there.
Mine doesn't even have cc but most Toyota cc is pretty similar I've seen.
Do yours have cruise control? In these first gens It seems rarer to not have cruise
