I ran 32t oval with that chain so yeah you’ll be a little short if you tossed two links. :(

Gotcha. Wasn’t trying to correct, just never heard anyone use the fork length as a reference for the bike travel. Carry on!

Any opinions about your swingout that you'd be willing to share?

Other than the rusty nut, it's been great. The only thing I would change would be to get a large instead of a medium (their website recommended a medium for the Taco). The reason I would get a large is that when the 1Up rack is folded up and you swing the RakAttach out, the trays will hit the plastic bumper. The Large will give you a wider swing out for clearance. Also, measure your garage to make sure you'll have enough clearance. The RakAttach adds 8-10" in length compared to a 1Up rack directly into the hitch. I do a lot of flyfishing so being able to swing out the bikes to access my fishing gear is super nice.

No worries, you were right. I usually refer to the rear travel, as well, but was stuck thinking about the fork travel because I was trying to make sure none of them were over 130mm at either end. (for that reason, the Smuggler replacement may or may not remain on the list once it comes out. Does anyone know what it's going to be?)

Truth be told, most of these could probably run a 140 fork without issues, but I had to draw the lines somewhere... lol

But I'll be watching closely too @paleh0rse thinking the SB130 may become my dedicated Pisgah bike and picking up a shorter travel bike for Charlotte.

Not new this year but the trek Top Fuel fits perfectly in that category. There are a lot of short travel bikes.

It really is a great product. Mine has been going strong for about three years and has only required the occasional shot of WD40. Only downsides are that the rack sticks out a bit further and you lose a bit of departure angle.

I checked my pivot bolt and it has zero rust on it. I also found out RakAttach is pretty much out of the picture and 1Up has completely taken over this product. They must've changed the hardware, which is really a shame. Also, the guy at RakAttach recommended I get a large. Things have definitely changed over there...

That’s pretty much my list haha. There are so many good bikes in that category. I’m leaning towards Kona HEI HEI or process but the new revel ranger caught my eye too.

anybody just running some bed bars with a bike tray on them? think I might get rid of my bed rack and go that route.

is that not basically the same as bars? lol

I could store bars away really easily, get them cheaper than another full rack, and just move them around as needed in the bed. Like slide them to the very front so I could throw several bikes over the tailgate pad if needed...like this weekend.

well I'd like them to have enough attachment at the bed rail to make them strong enough for at least a mountain bike. plus attaching a tray between two would add strength.

my only concern was bike length. how far would the bike tray have to stick out over the tailgate to accommodate my bike and not hit the windows on the back of the cab

@Bannerman if you happen to yank your trays off the top of your cab, would you mind doing a measuring test on your bedrack? would basically be the same thing as the bars and our bikes are similar enough. I figure the front tire holder could stay in a constant position and I could just always adjust and take the bike off from the back one.

Yes Sir, will do. I'd planned to move one to the frontrunner bars eventually anyway, will have to slide the tent over a bit. I measured it the other day but didn't record the numbers, but what I remember it would fit just fine even with my bike which I think is longer than yours.

and it wouldn't hang ridiculously off the back over the tailgate? that would great. two bed bars and a one up tray would be super convenient for me.
