How did you manage to fit the last load bar horizontally w/o the ThinFin? I thought it wouldn’t fit?

Some 2020 models have the shark fin mounted in a different location than other 3rd gens.

Nice. All I'm troubleshooting now is the damn WHISTLE noise it makes when above 45-55mph. stops around 70. Its random depending on wind direction relative to the truck. Its so my bad my wife says no trips until i fix it :(. Going to try some recommendations some guys on here have said.

I dropped the back of the interior to get to the shark fin and 3rd brake light. Put sound deadening while I was there. But wish I would have taken it all down to the front and put some around the sunroof and on the sunroof screen door. I might also put my covers on the light bar too. The noise isn't much for me, but it can always be better! If you don't have a light bar in the front yet, maybe cover up the holes?

The thing is it's not the WHOOOSH sound all roof racks. Thats bearable. Its literally a deep Sounding constant Whistle that sounds like its coming from the front somewhere. I think its something with the light cutout.

I have an Alpha with the cutout for a BD S8, but no light bar mounted yet. There is no noticeable noise for me. I dont know what the difference might be. :notsure:

Have you gone around to tighten up the bolts, this is the first step. I recommend using blue loctite on them to keep them from backing out.

Next I would adjust your light bar into a different position forward or back, and then angle of the lightbar. Repeat until no wind noise is heard.

You should be able to isolate whats going on by doing these steps.

Gonna give it another go this afternoon. If you ask me i think my lighter sits too far back so I'll try to mess around with that. . For those curious this is how it sounds. I uploaded a video to Youtube. you can skip to the 12 second mark. its actually louder in person.

Run through the steps I outlined previously.

Additionally, what tires do you have on your vehicle?

Very interesting, I am guessing its the position of the light bar turning it from a light bar into a flute.

i know right. Thats why i had to post video lol. I think people thought maybe I was talking about a WOOSH sound that almost ever roof rack makes. In that regard these things are very quiet. It's that WHISTLE sound. I wonder if I have a hole thats not covered or something making that flute sound. I need to really investigate. If I remove light bar completely that could help me isolate it big time to it being something with that. Then i can focus on that.

Removing the lightbar completely is going to make it worse. As @upTOPoverland said I asked about the tires because the cab noise is usually pretty loud. Manuals also roar as well, they are not exactly the quietest vehicles.

Ya its just never happened before the rack. So either how i setup the light bar changed something or my some were 1/10000000 chance something else changed that caused a whistle at the same time i installed Rack LOL.

The only reason i suggested remove light bar was to see if the tone or type of noise changed. Then I'll know.
