appreciate the reply. Didn’t see it. Wife had a hard time finding anything open with dine in. We ended up at Outback eating outside on the way back.....

Oh btw my little 1.5 hour detour turned into 6.5 or more..... took my daughter to see the ocean lol. We just got there and they sent everyone off but she got to walk the sand a little and put her feet in. She loves the coast!

I got home at 2am.... and up for work at 5. Gonna be a long day cause I work till 9:30 tonight lol

Yeah I've always gotten a notice in the mail with an option just to pay a small online fee to avoid having to actually take my truck in some place to have the emissions done. Been doing this since 2014 :D

So rather than get an emissions test, you can just pay a fee? That's some bureaucratic bullshit lol

"We are doing this because we care about the environment. Or just pay us and we'll look the other way."

It's actually getting tested in a more real world environment.... The drive-by tests use results while the vehicle is under load and driving realistically. We used to have to do it on a dyno. And before that was just the sniffer test.

Oh so the drive by test still has to be done. I thought you could just pay a fee and skip the testing. That's how I read brians message but you're making way more sense.

I mean I'm making assumptions, but I know he's near a prime spot for the drive-by testing locations.

Lol yeah you still gotta drive by the emissions sensors ... then you get the notice with the option to just pay online. I assume you only get a notice in the mail if you are due for an emissions test.

So just to be clear on this:
I can drive past the emission sensor thing, wait about 72 hours for it to be uploaded online, then pay a fee? Would this also mean that I don’t have to go to an actual emissions testing station?

It should. Drive by twice just to make sure. They're static. It's a little green box on the shoulder. May be a van there, may not be.

Sweet. That definitely sounds way more appealing than taking it to a shop. Hopefully that’ll be the better option for me

I've heard that it has to have a few samples for the test to be valid. I would drive by it a few times.

I shut my truck off when driving by just be safe. I heard a rumor if you test too bad they can send you to an emissions station. I dont want to find out.

My truck and the green box probably wouldn't get along, so i shut it off. #racetruck problems.

Damnit Greg everyone knows 1. Toyotas are inherently unreliable AND 2. #racetrucks break a lot.

Don't worry mines been sidelined two weeks:anonymous: until I can get these 4 degree axle shims installed:crapstorm:.

I tend to break shit when wrenching solo...so that means I'm not allowed to do much more than torque and retorque stuff without adult supervision, aka my neighbor.
