I would hope most people who swap to disc rear do it for looks and not for increased braking power. Because if they actually DID get more rear braking power, it could be dangerous. The proportions vs weight vs all the other math has been worked out by people who do maths and sciences. Fortunately for me, I don’t have to worry about dialing those numbers in, because my truck came dialed from the factory. Weird.

I think a lot of the bro-sci is a result of a printer repair man thinking he moonlights as an automotive engineer. I mean. How hard could it be.

Mike Sweers can give us the corporate line, but ultimately this is cost-cutting measure. Drum brakes aren’t good, but they are (probably) good enough.

My point was that in other test scenarios it slightly outperforms the exact same competition. That’s why I cited Edmunds’ five tests. They and your site both put the Colorado at about 140’ in the 60-0. But Edmunds has the Taco at 123-132 instead of your site’s 147. I’m...I’m imagining you understand my point?
