Just bought a 2014 Taco TRD.

I have been told not to use a spray on liner because the bed is fiberglass. Comments appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Thomas :hattip:
These composite beds take a good beating.
I have a oem bed mat and no issues.
I’ve read on here some places won’t install the spray on them for fear of not adhering.

You'll likely not get a spray on bed liner to stick, long term. There is a release agent in the SMC used in the production of these beds. If I'm not mistaken, it's zinc stearate. You'd have to scuff the hell out of the surfaces before application and degrease it really well. You'd get into the fiber glass if you do that.
I wouldn't recommend it. I'd go with a decent bed mat and call it good.

Offering a data point here. I just sprayed my '09 DCSB with 3 cans of rattle can bedliner after 11 years of taking a serious beating. I mildly scuffed it up with some 120-grit sandpaper and ensured there was no dirt, grease or otherwise. I'm very happy with the results, dare I say it looks brand new. I plan on covering the bottom with a bed mat. Only time will tell if it was a wise move...
