Quite the opposite as you well know by now.

 

Not so sure. There aren't any accurate counts in the states. Too much in the way of money and politics on both sides clouding effective research.

I work for the VA. No politics involved; just doing our job. It’s bad - we have a massive research project going in conjunction with hundreds of hospitals and dozens of universities. Long term effects so far appear to show permanent heart and lung damage even in moderate cases.

Regardless or political leanings, this is serious and not going away quickly. Even the governor said so today.

Sucks for anyone to get sick, hopefully he recovers quickly and completely. Would such for someone just starting their career to lose it like that.

 

He’s been a complete asshole for the past 5 years. Fantastic player who makes “poor personal decisions.” This isn’t really a surprise.

I really think the NFL needs to restructure like the Army when they’re not playing. You’re in a squad, your squad leader keeps you in check if you start acting stupid, and if you ignore the squad leader the platoon sergeant gets to beat your ass.

 

That might actually work lol. Also, stricter punishments for convictions of crimes.

 

Yep! Drink and drive? Time for a BLANKET PARTY! Starting with special teams and ending with the offensive line.

I don't know about that lol. Capital punishment for rapists and people who hurt children.

Drink and drive, multiple game suspension and big fine, loss of pay... that sort of thing. Conviction of any violence, towards animals or people, banishment from the NFL and forfeiture of pay and incentives. Theft? Multiple game or season suspension, loss of pay.

That kind of stuff, I think.

To mods, if this is political at all, just let me know. I know this is kinda borderline.

 

I have so many concerns about our knowledge of this disease. A client of mine who is a nurse told me today of a group of 39 people who all tested positive, were then retested, and all tested negative. She also told me a lot of people test positive who never present with symptoms, and people test positive for antibodies who never presented with symptoms. If we are getting substantial false positives still, I would say chances are high that we're also getting an equal number of false negatives. The scariest thing to me about this whole thing is how little understanding we have at this point in the game.

I only like about 8 people anyway, so distancing isn't a real issue for me, but we need to get a handle on this pretty soon.

 

The lack of knowledge is a huge problem.

I work in a FDA governed manufacturing facility. With hundreds of employees. 2 confirmed cases & my supervisor is out as of yesterday being tested.
I can’t hide under a rock. I do my best to stay safe but
I CHOOSE LIFE!
Not gonna stop living cause tomorrow may not come.
