Found a ‘13 DCSB 4x4 near me at a good price and took it for a test drove today. Anywayz while driving i noticed a slight wobble/vibration in steering wheel at certain speeds. Is this a common issue? Easy fix? Other than that the owner said at times he noticed a rattle in dash somewhere but i didnt notice it while i was in it

Could be tires need a balance. Easy
    Could be an alignment. Easy
Could be bent wheel. Easy but annoying and possibly spendy.
Could be worn suspension components somewhere. Spendy possibly.
    How many miles?

Probably not a big deal. It is a 7 year old used truck, so I’d check the easy stuff and ask for some cash off the deal. Use that to address tire or suspension issues you might find.

Check the tire wear. Twice I’ve had my tires wear unevenly due to me being dumb while tweaking wheels/suspension and waiting on alignment. Both times when it happened weird vibes around 55 mph. Vibes gone with new tires. Luckily both sets were almost done anyways.

If tires are oversized, would def think an alignment or rebalance would be an order. I love my 2012 dcsb great truck. How many miles and price is the one you are looking at?

Have the truck checked out by a mechanic that knows Tacomas,BEFORE you buy it.

"slight wobble/vibration at certain speeds" is a very vague description - hell it could just have been the road you were on. While probably not a big issue, sounds like you should take it to a good mechanic you trust to look it over if you are serious about buying.

24k sounds like a decent deal for a '13 4x4 with only 45k miles. Maybe could get for around 21-22k?

any reason you looking at the 13?? you like that style? Asking, as I got a 17 with 25k for lil more than that. Just my .02.. Still low mileage for yours you are looking at. Like the others said, have a mechanic check it out for you, wheel and deal. whatever money you save is going to be spent on mods from here.

Not a big deal. Speed sensitive vibes at certain speeds are usually caused by tire balance related issues. If you are serious about buying it, I doubt the seller will have any issue with getting the truck re-balanced prior to purchase and go for another test drive.

he said he owed around 24 on it. Said he might take like 23,800. I was thinking around 22 would be right but i doubt hed go under 23. Is that still a decent price?

Hey, if youwant the 2nd gen, go for it. I had one for a year, and was nice ,and had power in it, but couldnt pass up the deal for the 3rd gen. I like all the bells and whistles it comes with. I havent had any transmission, or les spower issues. What I know, and have heard here, is the transmission learns how you drive, and adjusts. I am thinking of going to a pedal commander, have heard good things.
I say get what you want, and either way, you will enjoy it for sure!!! I love my Taco, and have only drive Tacos or 4Runners since 1990..

I have an '06 with 300K on it, when I first got it there was a pretty rough vibration in the steering wheel. iirc I just got my tires balanced and my issues pretty much went away. Other things I got done was replacing my ball joints and control arms. That was almost a year ago and haven't had any steering issues since.
