I've been running a RTT, rack, bed full of camping gear, water, cooler, etc. for a few months now for camping season. I don't ever plan to take off the RTT (180 lbs alone) but will eventually empty the bed for the winter ski season. That being said, am I doing any irreversible damage to the rear suspension with the constant load on it, and wheeling with the full weight? Just sitting in the garage both rear leafs are compressed a bit past horizontal.

    Penis valve stem caps.
You can de-arch your springs by overloading them, and ware out suspention components prematurely.

Hey, speaking of. How do you like your toytechs?! They're local to me and my top contender for my future lift.

Personally. They’re great. My truck is a Prerunner so I got exactly 3” out of them. They’ve been on 2.5 years settled In with about a 1/4” of sag and that’s it. I also personally like the Bilsteins because they are digressively valved. No complaints from me at all. Also running JBA ucas which have also been great.

I thought the toytecs and JBAs were reasonably priced. They could have been Kings ouch!!!

On the bright side, a lot of these pricey components are super high quality. Buy once cry once, cheaper in the long run than making mistakes, and all that.

I was looking at the BOSS aluma series. I think with AAL, no remote resi and SPC UCA's it comes out to around 2200. Which I suppose arent actually that bad lol

True there. This is a truck I plan to keep for quite a long time. Just hard to justify and prioritize with all the other things that drain my bank account on a monthly basis. Hope these stock leafs can hang in there for a while!

Just note the aluma series has a 700lb spring so if not not running any weight in the form of an aftermarket bumper they may be a bit stiff.

Good point. Bumper and winch are indeed long term plans though. I wonder if full skids and sliders are enough to smooth some of that out? That's got to be 200 something pounds? Though, not all hanging out in the front of the truck.

I hear you dude. I never foresaw myself doing any mods to any vehicle, but I'm enamored enough with my 2015 DCLB to splurge a bit. For what it's worth, I've heard quite a few people complain about the OEM leaf packs going flat with a quickness. I'm canning mine in favor of Dobinsons leaf packs as soon as I can find time to install them.

If ya haven’t been to toytec. I say run Over and naw on their ears a bit, they were very helpful in answering all my questions that’s for sure.

It should be enough to weigh it down a little, but your springs will probably still be slightly over-spec'd. Bear in mind that the 3rd gen has a heavier front end than us 2nd gen guys, so your requirements will be different.

Yeah. I have heard great things about the Dobinsons.

Yeah, I made it a note to call them and talk over some options...but I knew after that call I would want to buy right away! Maybe around tax time or when the holiday bonuses roll around!
