I had approximately 75000 when I installed mine and the vibration was pretty much instant.

Thanks guys, I just rolled over 80k. After doing more research while I have pretty much everything but the LCA out of the truck I might as well get in there and do it while I have the truck apart as a precaution.

So this Bilstein/OME combo seems to be a very common one amongst Tacoma owners. For someone like myself who's planning to do about a 2-2.5" lift in my 2020 sport, it seems like this may be a good option to go with. Anyone also put OME medium duty Dakar leafs with this combo? Currently creating a shopping list and I'm also interested in that particular leaf package. Good, bad, any info would be appreciated.

Wow, sorry for the delay--it's been a while since I have been on here. I do have springs--can't remember now if they were 885 or 887 though.

Hey everyone, I have a question to those running 5100’s, I have them installed on the front of my third gen (2wd).

When you guys go over bumps/dips/drive ways/ or when off roading, do you hear a click sound? I’m not sure if this is the nature of the shock since they do have clips. I bought them second hand from a member, and had a shop install them. They’re not giving any issues at all and visually look perfectly fine, so just curious if this is normal or not.

    Thanks for any responses!

To clarify, I am on 885s.

Question for anybody who can help:

I need to beef up the load capacity in the rear as it just isn't sufficient for a simple camping trip, let alone two motorcycles. I've been emailing with Marie and I think I have decided to get the MD Dakar kit, but I am curious if that will require the extended travel 5100s in the rear. I currently have the regular travel 5100s back there. Also, will raising the back the 2" that is estimated by OME create much of a rake in front? I would prefer the truck to sit relatively level if possible. Maris said that they do not recommend raising the 885s higher than the 0 setting on the 5100 due to potential coil bind (and I suspect I would need to get new UCAs up front to compensate for the added height).

I also want to go to a 275/70 17 or 285/70 17 tire size from my current 265/70 17. But I have high negative offset SCS wheels, which already required a lot of wheel well plastic trimming and CMC to make the current 265/70 17s not rub, so maybe that large a tire wouldn't work without another 1' or 2 lift in the front anyway.

I hope this is clear and not just a bunch of garble. Let me know if I left any information out for anybody to be able to provide an answer or insight.

@Edgar , you shouldn't be hearing anything unusual.
    Check for signs of rubbing.
My front sway bar would touch the lower part of the shock so I removed the sway bar, think this was common on 2nd gens.

    Hey Kopaz,
If you do a MD Dakar kit in the rear it should put you at 3 inches lift in the rear. 5100's will work fine unless you are a rock crawler and articulate to the max. Then you will need brake lines also.
If you want to put one 285's I recommend doing a body mount chop (BMC) and pinch welds so you do not rub when off road. of coarse plastic trimming also needs to be done.

I have all of this done and have never had issues. The springs hold up for gear weight and a shell if you ever want one, and I pull a trailer on occasion. MD's are worth the extra few bucks.
Keep the 5100's at 0 to not stress them out, The 885's will give you 2 1/2 inches in front so no UCA's needed.

Badass, thank you @FJ to Taco. That's exactly what I was looking for. I have already bent back the pinch weld and completed the BMC to stop the rub I got with the -38 et SCS Ray10s and 265/70 17s I have. Looks like I'm placing an order for the MD Dakars.......really appreciate the help.

    Here's a recent pic.
    Lift is still doing well.
I now have my shell, ifs skid, gas tank skid, rear diff skid, rock sliders, front and rear bumpers, winch.
My spare is in the passenger rear seat.
Thought I'd post a pick now.
I'm adding mid and transfer case skids soon as well as the swingouts for my spare and gas/water cans.
I'll post measurements when I get on level ground.
