That’s where the higher sodium will help the water retention also. Tricks I used back in the day before all my fat ass wasn’t that fat and more muscle.

I used to be able to eat anything till about 25...then stuff started expanding my waist...

 

I was the opposite spectrum. I would dehydrate and have a small handful of something to keep the bloating down for height and weight. I've always needed to get taped, but only flagged twice as a Joe for busting it. I was 17% and still needed tape.

 

My problem is that I was very athletic and worked out a lot. After hurting myself badly that all stopped. I kept eating like I used to so you can see where this went bad.

I want to trim back down and drop about 70 pounds but at this point in life my willpower for doing so is crap. Not an excuse by any means but I also hate working out alone.

 

I injured my back trying to be the first in my life getting ready for ALC. That led into a 2-year spiral of misdiagnosis and injury sustained from surgical procedures resulting in my medical discharge and losing my promotable status and the chance to continue service.

 

That really sucks man. I wanted to be an athlete and was good enough but that wasn’t meant to be I guess.

 

I was pissed because on my overall score, PT was my worst score and kept me out of commandant's list for BLC because my writing score also sucked. I remedied the writing issues so I wanted to max my PT for ALC.

 

I tried to take my injury and look at it as if someone had another plan for me. I tried not to be bitter about it (sometimes mighty hard) and just move forward.

 

Sometimes try as you will your life goes a different direction...i try not to dwell on the past. Just live in the now, take it day by day.

 

Just remembering the situation pisses me off. All because I pushed to hard on back day.

Thanks for the support, guys. I'm embarrassed, in person, for the reason of my discharge. I wanted to beat my dad and retire at higher than 28.5 and hit E9.

I guess I'll get into building guns.

I don't define myself by the situation that led to the end of my military career. I define myself by who I am. I've taken lots of resiliency classes.

My buddies and my family were worse off than me after they got out. I've always had too many hobbies to keep me busy lol.

 

Do not beat yourself up. 12 years is nothing to be embarrassed about. I only did 10. My Brother did 34.5 years and got a medical discharge too. He was pissed he wanted to keep going. Shit Happens.
