Sweet! I'll probably hit up cameron park lake tomorrow

Any specific spots in Folsom Lake you recommend going? I don't mind a bit of a hike, but I don't have a boat to get out in :/
(Gonna look into getting a kayak maybe)

nothing specific around Folsom. I’ve walked the trails along the main park lot off green valley, browns ravine boat ramp and along the rif raf along the levee. Really just depends on time of day/temp/cover. It’s all trial and error. A boat is nice, kayak too, to get up into isolated coves and points. Lake Natoma is perfect for a kayak or small boat with trolling motor, they don’t allow gas. Up by Negro bar (across from sutter street Downtown Folsom) there’s some foot trails and good spots under/near the bridges

@franndulce looks like @t.hornstra got you some good recommendations.

Lake Washington aka West Sacramento Barge Canal access too the deep water channel has black bass, stripe bass, bluegills, depending on the time of the year, Salmon as well.

Rancho Seco is not too shabby off shore or a kayak.

Sac and American river have stripe bass running, just missed the shady run by a few weeks.

If you have a bike, I would ride along the banks for the Barge canal access or even Auburn State Park trail.

fish on!!! brother! exciting for you!

Super last-minute "SOS" to any of you guys but does anyone have an extra adult-sized kayak laying around that I can borrow this coming Friday through Saturday afternoon? I'm taking both of my brothers out to a lake north of Sacramento and one of my brothers does not have a kayak available (his is still being shipped.) I can pick it up Thursday evening if it works better and def will supply a beer of choice or money if someone has one I can borrow.

I have a 10’ lifetime kayak. I bought it from sports authority back in the days and used it a few times. I loaned it to a friend for a camping trip and he lost one of those top compartment cover. It works, safe and in great condition. You can borrow if it you would like.

Ah, unfortunately didn't catch anything. I was at Cameron Park at about 8am and was there until about 11.

Tried my luck at Folsom lake at around 11:30 - noon and nada.

    :annoyed:

It was really nice just getting out though!

Hey all, I’m in the Roseville area. Anyone know a shop or “a guy” that can treat my frame (and all the other areas) for rust (like Por15). My truck spent most of its life in winter climates, lots of snow and road salt. (Dad was military, I inherited the truck when he passed and I want it to last as long as possible).

I had the frame looked at, after having to argue with the CS manager to look at the maintenance history of the truck. “Tacoma’s don’t rust in CA...” The report came back that the frame had medium rust. I plan to have the frame inspected once more next week as the warranty expires in July.

If it comes back the same, I need to treat the rust. I live in an apartment and have some medical issues that will prevent me from doing this myself. Anyone know of a place that will do the job properly?

I don't have anywhere to suggest but I'd recommend possibly looking out of state for a place to take your truck to. Rust issues just aren't a thing here and I don't believe I've ever heard anyone mention (locally) getting an undercarriage treatment done. I'd think maybe a road trip up to Idaho or Utah where it's more common would get you better results in finding a shop experienced to do the work.

    Good luck.

Thanks for your insight. I’m hoping that I don’t have to go that route. The truck spent 5 years in Utah and another 5 in Germany (and 6 months or so in North Africa) before I got it when my dad passed. It is pretty bad in spots, but not all the way through. I really worry that it won’t last me more than 4 years without something done to treat. I would do it myself, but I have to many medical issues to do it.
