Took my skids off for my oil change mostly because they needed a good beating the opposite direction. My lower control arm is rubbing prettying hard on both sides, I’m thinking about cutting that portion out and welding some 3/16 2” strap there to give it some clearance. 6F019A98-7AD3-4B4B-9466-C0E043B49FDD.jpg

    Hey guys,
New to Tacoma ownership. After buying my Tacoma, today I put new tires on, as well as a new head unit and front speakers. Tomorrow I am going to soundproof the cabin and install the rear speakers!

I just have some 2” x 3/16” flat bar or I tend to call it strap. My thought was cut it out then weld that flat bar on the bottom that would give the lower control arm an additional 3/16” of clearance. I might just start with cutting it.

Just notch it. No need to add anything to it. I did this to my RAT skid.

Yeah I just wouldn't bother plating it again. No point.

Easier to do. Especially since it’s 95-100 degrees after work haha I don’t like welding in that weather.

CBI ditch light brackets came in today. definitely a lot beefier than i was expecting! still not sure what lights i want to get, the powder-coat needs touching up in a couple places but i'm hoping to get these on tomorrow sometime. think i'll have a better idea of what lights i want when i install the brackets. I really like the S1s but i'm still not sold on the 1 LED thing, seems like it'd be more useful all around to have the 2 LEDs that the S2 has...

just look at the specs, speak for themselves. The S1 has a high output and bigger reflector so it uses the light better and more efficiently.

just looked at the lumen specs side by side, definitely going with the S1 now. smaller, lighter (not that weight really matters here), and brighter. going with the wide cornering pattern. should give me enough reach, while still providing a pretty wide beam.

From the top picture to the bottom in just over a week. Took her for a boot sitting on a milk crate last night! Pretty stoked that she’s a running truck again. Xtracab 00 frame, trans/t-case mated to a 01 double cab prerunner. Now time to tub it and build my logger box.
