this isn't about anyone's opinion of me, it's about science. it's about stepping out of the dark ages and breaking the propaganda that racking the slide on a shotgun will magically make someone shit their pants.
we learned about centerfire cartridges back in the late 1800's, and then we made that work in pistols in the early 1900's. since then we've had leaps in technology and society, we even put women into orbit. shit's crazy yo.

consider this an anti-meth campaign, but for firearms. instead of "meth, not even once" it should be something along the lines of "fuck it, if all you have is a shotgun... it'll do" i don't have an advertising budget, so this is going to be a work in progress.

Suppressed SBR with a white light and a red dot sight is my primary home defense weapon. Other folks have other preferences and so long as they shoot their platform well and follow the four rules, it’s probably not worth your time to preach to them. This exchange has been pretty hilarious though so don’t stop on my account.

I’ll stir the pot and say 99.9% of the time, racking the shotgun will make them leave. I have amazing insurance and no desire to live with more death. I’m not a proponent of killing someone over a TV or couch. It’s not the popular opinion and where I live I have pretty large latitude for shooting someone in my home, but I’d rather lean towards family defense vs “home” defense. People always talk about taking someone out that continues to come at you after the first shot, well I’m not down range anymore and I’ve yet to see ISIS here. Maybe I’ve lived through too many hits and ambushes or maybe I’m just ignorant. Either way, I’m less concerned with a single kill shot vs just scaring some asshole off.

i think this conversation passed the "practical results exit" a few miles back

it's summertime, i'm bored, taking breaks from booze to do things like sleep and pick my nose... may as well fight the good fight and keep people from bringing Hitler back to life by relying on shotguns

Fuck charging a shotgun when you hear an intruder. No way I’m going to give them an advantage over me by giving away my position.
