Beaverdam is still open, but we lost the Old Creedmoor bandit trails due to misuse/trespassing issues; as well as a few shorter trails over near the Pines/Reservoir due to new construction. Other than that, we're actually gaining new trail on a fairly regular basis thanks to a bunch of really great trail gnomes in the area (like Jeff).

The pending bigger loss (IMO) will be if/when we lose the 286 bandit trails to the Airport Authority. If they finally fence those off, I'm probably going to shed a tear. The creek in 286 is my favorite trail in the entire area. :(

Agreed -- the new I9 wheels are actually We Are One -- I got mine late last year (Enduro 310C) which are Reynolds.

First bike trip with the Tacoma. I haven’t gotten around to picking up a fork mount yet, but surprisingly this is really secure.

I just went through the process of getting wheels built. I was on a budget and trying to be mindful of weight. Ended up on Spank 350 rims with i9 1/1 hubs. RF ARC 30 Offset rims were highly recommended from multiple wheel builders as well. Some online weights seem to be off a bit. My builder swore that Flows, ARC 30, and Spank 350 all regularly come in at 480g each. If cost and weight are less concern then Dt Swiss EX511 are a good bet and bomb proof. If cost REALLY isn't a concern I'll 4th or whatever We Are One rims.

Had the soft top dropped so I got to remember what it’s like using my harbor freight moving blanket tail gate pad. Really need to sack up and buy a hitch tray rack already.

Did not know about OC. That’s a shame.
    Do you ride Wake Forest?

That was from the top of
Thompson Ridge Trail which I’d recommend. Ride it from south to north. There are also some other trails in that area that look fun but I didn’t get a chance to ride them.

Yeah, the whole OC thing is a mess. A lot of people were breaking the unspoken rule to only ride on Sundays, so several of the landowners got fed up and told everyone to permanently GTFO. There are a few guys who live right next to it who are trying to smooth things over; but, there's a lot of bad blood at the moment, so it's probably going to be a while before we get it back (if ever). It was definitely one of the best trail systems in the area, so it's a a damn shame that we never get to ride it again.

I live in Wake Forest, so I can usually be found on a few of the following every week: Forest Ridge, WF Reservoir, Pines, Shady80, Beaverdam, New Light, Crabtree, 286, or Brumley.

That sucks, thanks for the update. I usually ride in Wake Forest, at Rez, Shady, Pines, and Forest Ridge. Rolesville sometimes. Maybe I’ll catch you out there someday.

    Cheers
