Fairly happy with mine. Frame and tub are pretty solid.

 

Honestly, i really wouldn't mind an LJ or An XJ as a toy only status.

 

Mad respect for XJs. My dad has an LJ Rubicon, which is respectable but I'd still want to mess with it a bit.

Thanks. Had to replace the fenders, but everything else has been pretty minor. Have had it over a decade, was pretty shocked by its condition/price considering it had been registered in Kansas for its entire life.

 

ya man normally they have the diamond plate on the back corners to cover rust and look like shit but that thing is just clean im surprised

Same, man. It takes me where I want to go, but I don't get too crazy with it. If I need a real beater, I'll get an XJ

 

ya i feel you on that one pretty cheap and easy to swap mods back and forth

i know a guy in the Midwest krawlers thats killed 3 xjs he just takes the parts off and swaps them to his new one and then kills that one lol

 

Yeah, they're dirty cheap and easy to work on.

Also, the YJ is my first project vehicle, so I really don't want to trash it. Spent my last spring break at college doing an axle swap and suspension work. Probably taking it back out to Colorado in a few months.

 

At this point, given status of DP and @Mrs2Fang 's DropBear......most likely I'll be
puting efforts after into the "old man cruiser" before anything else....

 

I've had two XJs and I'm looking to buy another one in the next year or so as a project vehicle to get me back onto trails that risk more damage. My '89 came stock with a Dana44 rear and and NP231 transfer case. Seriously stout stuff for a very capable station wagon.

 

Why yes, yes I can. Had an "83 244 with that same coffin nose front end....
