I would be interested if Duke employees wear FR clothing. We have to but I would put money on it that it’s not going to save you. It’s just hot with wearing long sleeve shirts all the time. Two years ago we lost two guys when a high pressure (1800psi) ruptured and cooked them before they could escape. They probably never knew what happened it was so fast.

 

I dunno, I still have fond memories of my Grandparent' beach house at Perdido Beach Alabama.
The fishing...going at sunup with my Grandpa to get shrimp right off the boats coming in...
I love it here, especially the fact that there aren't many people here and they're all down home type of folks.
Sure wish I owned that old beach house though as well.

 

Damn man that’s bad ,sorry , we wear frc Supposed to help with an initial flash but that or bunker gear won’t save u when things like that happen . Our rescue trainer “ pretty badass guy “ does a lot in Africa and the Middle East says when those situations come up bunker gear just help contain the body parts for clean up

 

Yes the FR is only supposed to keep you from getting burnt in a arc flash event or burnt in a explosion and fire. There was nothing going to save these guys.

 

Surveying flat areas does sound nice actually.

I know the linemen do, one of my buddies always has a longsleeve brown shirt on with a triangle patch with “FR” on it. Pretty sure their pants are as well.

It’s kind of funny that some utility companies require it but their are a lot that don’t. FR is fucking expensive, we get a yearly allowance but a pair of overalls is $200 and shirts are $80. Then the coats are $200 +!

 

Well, actually they do smarty pants. Yeah, first time I found a nest for that specific species of bird so took a pic.
