Solar was another thought since I’d only do something lower profile than the Camper itself. I like bulk items behind the truck, but straps or a panel are thin.

Keep us posted and share photos if you keep anything there.

I have a place for 100% if my gear until I lose the bumper so still drawing up ideas to keep the dirty stuff outside.

I’m surprised how popular Vagabond builds are here. I’ll have to give their site another perusal, it’s been a while. Long box options are limited everywhere though it seems.

Yea, I'm trying to keep the Drifter itself as the highest point of the truck. Well, the fan at least. On the DCLB there's about 30" of space from the windshield to the Drifter and about 8" of height from the cab roof to the top of the drifter, so plenty of room for a 100W panel.

Thanks for the info. I’ll keep that in mind as the wife and I plan our build. It has two years to be finished and then I’m flying her family to the States for a big US road trip as a second grad gift to her. I’m stoked to show some Pacific Islander family the Western USA! :) and this will be our base camp to do so! Thanks again!

It's Monday... so that means camping time is over, at least for mere mortals such as I. But I can look at these to remind myself what next weekend might be like. :D Anyone able to spot the Drifter in the last photo?

Beautiful!! What trail is it that the last picture is looking down on? Is the truck at the far left? (I can't zoom in on the pic)

Still haven't gotten a date from them, but they shared some pics of what appeared to be @Ripcord's truck with the DIY wedgie. I shared some pics with Will at Sherpa and he confirmed that rack will fit on our DCLBs with Drifter.

He also shared a pic of the rack they have coming for the DCSBs.

I'm kinda stoked that these are aluminum and I can get it raw so that it'll match my Drifter.

Other than a really expensive air deflector, what's the point of this "rack" on the DCSB? It looks like you could fit a box of cookies up there and not much more.

roger that, I talked with ripcord too and it looks like his camper comes a hair more forward than a DCLB drifter so yeah should work great in theory. Hopefully they are ready for production soon!

The fortunate part is my DIY camper is somewhere between the GFC and vagabond in lengths, which means Sherpa will have 3 different length of "Short racks" available. But the short rack I have seems to work well for DCLB with vagabond so hopefully there is some crossover!

And in the spirit of this thread, here are some recent pics of me with my DIY camper (how-to links in signature)

I'm liking the looks of that but definitely not going to hold much. I think it might be good for a shovel :notsure:

True, but is the front face of a wedge camper any different? They’re both above the deflector.
