Okay . Well this changes things. The other option is just go with an 2019 Off Road in Cement.

Back in consideration...considering 2018 doesnt have Cement. 2017 will already be 4 years at the end of the year.

You can get leather seats in an OR after 2017.

This is strong contender for an option of color and leather seating. Especially at price I am being quoted at almost 39K for 3 1/2 year old vehicle.

I was very confused with your request. So I carefully read it a few times. I thought this was a post from 2018. But it's today. I can give you a brief synopsis of my situation and if you have detailed questions I'm more than happy to answer. I bought a brand new 2020 TRD Off-Road this Jan 31 for $38K out the door (TTL). No leather seats or fancy packages but I did get black out package, predator steps, mud flaps, premium protection. Most importantly I got CarPlay, because Entune 3.0 is a disaster. You want to pay $38.5K for a 2018?

    I don't get it?

Personally if I had the choice I would choose a 2017 over a 2018 due to the safety sense:

Lane departure I find annoying, every time you start to drift off the road a bit you hear the annoying beep that sounds like a morning alarm, with the car pulling you back into the lane. I rather feel like im in control instead of the car doing the job for me.

Dynamic Cruise control I find is not very pleasant, especially with how the tacoma downshifts, when you have a car get infront of you it can be bit jarring.

Automatic high beams I feel is a bit of a gimmick, Ive always been pretty conscious about blinding other drivers so it doesn't bother me to move my finger to turn them off manually.

Pre collision system I think is pretty cool and could be real helpful incase of a car slamming their breaks or a deer getting infront of the truck, me personally I am a very cautious driver, and never pick up my phone while driving or tailgate any cars or anything like that but it definitely could be a life saver if youre ever in a scenario not paying attention.

Also for me I think having all this technology is just really expensive to fix incase it goes out after warranty.
Speaking from experience when I used the rav4 I was told the new windshield would cost over $1,000 to replace due the lane departure camera having to be re-calibrated where if it didn't have the camera it would've been a $300 cost.

Just my opinion, im pretty happy with just the basic parking assist, blind spot monitoring, anything more than that is an overkill for me also not to mention how much each part will cost once they start to fail. Having that much technology packed into the car would probably concern me.

2020 OR Cement + Leather + OR package + some options comes to 45K w/o rebates or incentives. But brand new.

Color options on 2020 are limited.

When you say that it makes me realize that I don’t use any of those features lol. I like blind spot monitors that’s about it

"Also for me I think having all this technology is just really expensive to fix incase it goes out after warranty." this is what I had been thinking too. Sometimes simpler is just easier to maintain. Am also a cautios driver so 2018 safety features are not main factor then however 2018 doesnt come in Cement. So this rules out 2018 Pro.

Do you need leather seats? I love the cloth seats. And what specifically is an "OR Package?" If it's navigation, their built in navigation is horrible. Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, which is in the 2020 only, allows for all the new navigation software (Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, and more).

Yeah main reason I got a tacoma was for simplicity.
    Durability and reliability.
I have no doubts about the reliability of the engine but definitely dont think the technology will last as long or even outlast it.

It was a 2017 Pro. Its final price of 36.5K w/o shipping. Shipping is 2K so thats the 38.5K to have it at my doorstep from Chicago. I build out a 2020 Off road on Toyotas website with leather and TRD package which spec'd it to almost 45K. Now if theres rebates and incentives at this time of year and during this Pandemic, then this is strong consideration and its also covered in warranty.

OR = Off road package + Tech package is the only option when selecting leather seats. This adds $5400 to overall cost

I like you. I am gonna work with you. I just bought a 2020 TRD Off Road Jan 31, so I know the "trama" in deciding. What do you want specifically in your Tacoma? Leather seats, check. But what else? JBL stereo? Navigation?
