TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...
Installed my own take on puddle lights and footwell illumination using the DSIM module. Also, installed blue LEDs in the door pockets.

Just wanting to ask some others. I'm loving my DSIM and it's made my rock/puddle light circuit exactly what i want. My question is, once i plugged in the DSIM, now my dome lights and rear cargo light no longer fade on/off like they did before, they now come on instantly. Is there any work around to this or is this normal and happening on all of your trucks? my truck is a 2019 DCSB SR5. Maybe adding something before the DSIM could help?

Yes, I think I noticed the same with the LED puddle lights after I installed them.

thats pretty cool! Nice work. We’re you replying to me? So your saying you noticed your dome lights not fade/dim anymore after the Dsim as well?

I'm quite happy with my own version of puddle lights.
Yes, they just shut off, not fade. Maybe this should be a question for the maker of the DSIM module.

for sure. And Just for clarity not tying to talk town the module I’m just curious if anyone’s had any thoughts of a mod or work around or if it’s even possible to get that fade on the dome lights back.

There is a fader module that could be added to restore the OEM look. As soon as I find the link I will post.

I think you may have something wired in such a way it is back-feeding/providing a ground to the dome circuit. The stock setup is controlled fade in/out via variable ground. IF you unplug the DSIM and fading is restored the culprit is the module and/or they way you have it wired. Theoretically it should be isolating the circuit and using the signal of the variable ground to switch the puddles on and off.

This leads to the thought that you either have a faulty module, stuff happens sometimes, or you have an issue in your rock light wiring that is feeding the circuit.

I would advise against adding another fade-in/out control device the the mix prior to insuring the stock configuration is not broken and fixable using normal Toyota parts. @DSIM is very helpful and will get your issue resolved if possible. Just give him time to get back to ya, and in the interim unplug the module to see if stock is back to normal operation so one diagnosis step is already done when he contacts you.

here's how i have my module wired. I utilized the diagram from dsim's website for the ch4x4 switch. i am actually using an aironboard switch but basically the same thing with different color wires. i've tapped my a pillar with the included harness from meso puddle lights the dsim and using hi trigger to the ozidium dimmer which takes the place of the relay to fade my rock lights on and off. dimmer takes Hi trigger, power and neg from battery and outputs to all 8 lights. as soon as i unplug the dsim fade is restored to my dome lights. I have spoken with one other who is having the exact same symptoms so far. I originally had wiring for the switch standing by but not physically wired into anything as i was waiting for the switch in the mail and it behaved like this as well before the switch was even wired in. bascially, as soon as i plug the dsim into the a harness provided by meso puddle lights kit, my dome lights no longer dim on and off. i could try disconnecting the trigger wire to my ozdium i guess and that would narrow it down to just the dsim and a pillar period.

maybe somethings wired different with the 2019 trucks?

So does the Oznium dimmer actually fade the light or are getting instant On and Off?

The dimmer fades my rock lights/puddle light circuit just fine! i'm talking about the DOME lights and rear cargo light that normally dim/fade in OEM fashion stop dimming/fading as soon as i plug in my DSIM from the very first time i plugged it in. another member @Puppypunter was helping me with a wiring diagram utilizing the ozdium dimmer. he actually informed me his DSIM domerock was doing the same thing when bench testing before i even started on my install. first time i hooked it up with my circuit it did the same thing.

i look forward to hearing from @DSIM i know he's just a one man operation so no rush at all.

one thought, if it is indeed a ground feeding back, can you use a diode to help prevent that ground back feed? perhaps maybe a diode on the pwm ground wire coming from the a pillar that feeds the dsim allowing pwm ground to the dsim but not back to the a pillar? just a thought as i'm brainstorming.

IMPO, I think you might be on to something going to test a few things tonight with a diode.
